I might have once voted for McGuire's Irish Pub in Destin, Florida--a great dry aged steak, though they do apply a proprietary rub.
After tonight I might vote for The Keg, a Canadian based enterprise, and we ate at the Arlington, Tx location. Difference? Their New York strip was so good, I couldn't even bring myself to salt or pepper it, and used a béarnaise sauce to dip bread in, rather than dip steak in it. Just Wow. Near as I can tell, the grade of meat and the well seasoned grill did their magic, no doubt aided by good cooking.
What makes you defend you favorite steak or method as champion?

The keg in Calgary is pretty darn good, but it’s not the best in that town. IMO the ribeye at Caesar’s is the best steak in Calgary.

I think that the best steak is from Mahogany Prime Steakhouse. Cuts with a fork, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and amazing flavor. You get what you pay for.

I'm a low-grade foodie wannabe and the best steak I've ever had was wildebeest tenderloin or backstrap cooked over a fire. I'm not kidding. I prefer it to any place I've ever been.

I've had amazing steak in ma-n-pa restaurants and so-so steak in expensive joints. Usually you get what you pay for.

I like it so much I've wondered if I could do a little high fence and keep a few around. I wonder how they'd respond to 2 feet of snow.......

For actual beef steak…I like to think I make the best around, but the best I’ve bought Bobs Chop House in Dallas and now long closed Carrnevino in Las Vegas. I want to try a couple of those century old farm to table steak houses in Italy and Spain some day.

Best I’ve had in Africa…no brainer…Three Monkeys in Harare.

Dry Aged Porterhouse at Harris in San Francisco.

Hard to beat…

Had a client treat me to the best steak ever at Manny’s Steakhouse in Minneapolis. It is rated in the top ten in the USA. They bring a cart full of steaks out to your table and describe the different cuts and help you pick out your specific steak. An amazing place. Here’s the link below. You can read about the steers they breed.

I had a great steak in Addo Elephant park in 2020.

Actually the staff at Game4Africa made a great lamb roast on arrival too.

If you want a particular restaurant - all they serve is steak, since 1964.

Texas Roadhouse can get you a top ten steak almost any day of the week. It’s over looked due to the family atmosphere, but they can deliver a perfectly cooked steak with value and variety for the whole family
Plus the yeast rolls, those baked sweet potatoes.. and if it’s your birthday, yeehaw! :D

Easily a Prime Angus steak from my personal freezer. Secondarily the west Texas, Zentner's style KC steak. This is a regional method where a sirloin is seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic and cooked in a flat top with a sprinkling of flour to make the seasoning stick. Not a prime steak but a favorite in my area that you don't find elsewhere.
Beyond that any prime steak house ribeye will do.

The New York strip at Joes Seafood in Chicago has always been a favorite.

Ive been very fortunate and blessed to have eaten at many of the top rated and best known steak houses in the world. Peter Lugers in NY, the original mortons in Chicago, Margaret in Sydney, etc. For me, overall the best steaks are in Buenos Aires. There are at least a dozen steakhouses there that I'd personally put in the top 25 in the world in terms of quality of the meal and quality of the ambiance. Then factor in that they are some of the most affordable anywhere on the planet, and they get very hard to beat.

If anyone is headed to Argentina for a hunt this year, dont screw yourself out of an opportunity to have a meal at Estillo Campo. The last time I ate there the meal was beyond divine. The service was impecable, and I think the tab came to about $30 a person with all of us eating appetisers, sharing a bottle of wine, eating steaks, a couple of sides, desert, and an after dinner coffee.

Keens, NYC.
Peter Luger, NYC, was the longtime king but many upstarts, like Wolfgang's (former head waiter at Luger's) has introduced competition.
Don Julio, Buenos Aries.
Gibsons, Chicago.
I think every major city, and some minor ones, now all have at least one good steakhouse.
