For Sale Dakota 76 African chambered in 416 Rigby with Swarovski Z6I 1-6x24mm EE

Reckoner, I may trouble you with a few questions in a month+ just about the fees BV had and the import marks once through the process. Was curious on this rifle in particular since manufactured here in the US, what steps/fees/marks might differ.

Cheers and hope you and the buyer have a nice smooth deal from here.

Will,

I imported a Heym Martini from Ralf Martini when he was still in Canada. BV put the import markings on the unside of the barrel, just ahead of the forend in microscopic size font. It is not at all noticeable. The process was a bit slow, but very easy, the same as buying something online and having it sent to your local FFL.

Here is a photo of the marking in the bright light on the underside of the barrel. You may have to enlarge it to see it.

I just had Griffin & Howe import two new Heym doubles and they tucked them in under the forearm, was surprised since BV does them in the same place ahead of the forearm (had an 88b 500NE that a hud traded me that had come in from Canada).

Was happy that they tucked them in, and they advised they do it on all doubles since the forearm is removable they are allowed to tuck them.

I was just curious about regs for repatriating a US firearm and why I asked above. The import marks don’t bother me one bit, and all the Rigby’s have them somewhere.
