7 rem mag 160 accubond or 150 ttsx barnes?

Which you choosing for a plains game hunt with cape kudo being the biggest animal?
 
Does your rifle shoot 160 gr well? Depending on barrel twist you might be limited on bullet weight.
Generally speaking - lighter TTSX perform very well (weight retention, penetration, expansion) so a 140 might be a good option if the heavier bullets don’t group well.

If you’re only shooting in the bushveld I would go with the CX. If you’re hunting areas where both close shots as well as longer shots are needed the Accubond is probably better.
Overall they are both great bullets!

Yes i am aware. I asked about 150 cx on that post and this post I asked about 150 ttsx. Is it that big of a deal?
 
A 154gr InterLock is more than enough for a kudu.
Use the bullet that shoots best in the rifle.

100% on what @Fatback said.

I used Accubonds bullets in Limpopo on my first safari. I used 180 grs coming out of a 300 Weatherby, and the bullet performed extremely well. I believe I only recovered one or two bullets.
 
It all comes down to what your rifle likes. I can't speak for PG but I have taken a slew of mule deer and elk with the 7 rem mag over the years. My particular rifle absolutely did not like heavy monos but the 139 LRX from Barnes was devastating one nearly everything I tried it on. A rutty old muley was the only thing I ever put more than 1 into, it was absolutely unnecessary because there wasn't a solid vital organ left in him yet he stood rock steady!

The 160 accubond was always a bit finicky in my 7 mag but once I got it worked out it was another devastating bullet. That is the bullet I have made my longest kill shot with, a whitetail doe at a touch shy of 550 yards, never had the chance to use it on elk but I absolutely would not hesitate to do so. I still prefer a mono metal like the Barnes bullets or Hornady CX especially in a faster cartridge.
 
If you were hunting elk at 400+ yards in open country, or something like a big bear where you want controlled expansion inside the animal, the 160 Accubond makes sense. But for plains game inside 300 yards? TTSX every day.

Is yours custom? I've never had any luck with heavy monos in my rem mag and going anything over 150 with copper usually requires a 1-8 twist barrel.
 
Either one is superb on PG. Just close your eyes and pick your poison!

It's a tikka t3x superlite
 
160 TSX worked for me. Impala, Warthog, Sable,Gemsbok, Blue Wildebeesrt, Kudu, Waterbuck, Blesbok, Zebra . All one and done except Waterbuck
 
Barnes.

I switched from Accubond and Partition
