8lbs ± an ounce or so depending on figuring of the stock. LOP is 13.5"can anyone confirm the LOP and weight.
Aside from still being pre-64 M70 based, the new Model 2022 receiver is a completely different animal from the Model 1999 guns!'Have 2 Montanas (757 and 375) and both are also exceedingly "Interesting!"
Better pic of wood grain. My rifle weighs 8.0 Lbs and is 13 1/2 lop.We need more light!
Long Range Archery and Firearms in Holland is also a dealer. Send me a PM and lets try to set something up.Ian, I have talked to you guys the last 2 years at the SCI convention in Nashville. I am in Fenton, Mi and have wanted to get by your place to see the operations. But I see now there are a couple dealers in Michigan, Franks and Jays. I assume I would have to order through them which is OK. I appreciate your time on this forum for all of us.
The checkering is lasered by our stock manufacturer. We don't have much in the way of options available as we're not a custom shop. We make everything in house aside from the stocks which have to be ordered in relatively large quantities. Is the checkering done by laser? Is there options for hand checkering?
Sir- Mine showed up at my FFL today and I will pick it up tomorrow. I am in the process of buying the right stuff to equip it with a Zeiss V6i 1-6x24. Question does it use the Talley Style or the Weaver Picatinny? I am going Alaska Arms QD rings in low.Tsavos are shipping out pretty regularly, and I'm very excited to get them into hunters' hands. I think we're close to selling out the first 50 guns! More stocks are on order and expected in a month or so.
I'm trying to schedule up a play date with @Mark A Ouellette to see and shoot some production rifles. Unfortunately, they're shipping out as fast as we can make them. We also don't want to put bases on finished guns to avoid marring the Cerakote. I'm going to take the final proto rifle over to his range to run rounds through. That rifle is identical to the production guns with the exception of the finish. It's a satin H series finish, and we switched to a higher gloss Elite series that looks more like polished blue.
The 1st article stock for the Tsavo's all weather sibling is due in from McMillan any time and we'll be releasing it for production mid summer.
Many humble thanks,
-Ian MacDonald
The mount pattern is the same as post'64 Winchester M70 Express/Magnum receivers with .330" rear spacing (#6-48 screws). Talley QD bases are the usual go to. I'm not familiar with anything Alaska Arms makes that will fit. They seem to cater more to the Ruger and CZ550s.Sir- Mine showed up at my FFL today and I will pick it up tomorrow. Any chance the built in Pic rail will be available on these bigger rifles? That is one of the most compelling selling points to me of your other receivers. The mount pattern is the same as post'64 Winchester M70 Express/Magnum receivers with .330" rear spacing (#6-48 screws). I've got a test rifle with the V6 1-6, and it makes a very sweet setup!
I was wondering the same. It is advertised as a “slick top”. I’m wondering if I can just add a steel Pic rail on top without any drilling.Any chance the built in Pic rail will be available on these bigger rifles? That is one of the most compelling selling points to me of your other receivers.
Should be able to by using one spec’d for post-64 M70 pattern he indicated above. I use Pic rails on the earlier version MRC 1999’s as well as every other rifle I own.I was wondering the same. Left handed all weather 416 Ruger or 404J please.Tsavos are shipping out pretty regularly, and I'm very excited to get them into hunters' hands. I think we're close to selling out the first 50 guns! More stocks are on order and expected in a month or so.

The Tsavo's all weather sibling, the Brooks will have the machined in Pic rail like our other rifles. There's internal talk of making the pic/slick an option for either rifle, but hasn't gone much further than talks. We're not a custom shop, but substituting one receiver part number for a different one isn't a huge deal to me from an engineering standpoint. I'm sure the sales department wouldn't turn an order away in the case of a special requestAny chance the built in Pic rail will be available on these bigger rifles? 458 Lott and 416 Rem Mag are the next two slated calibers. I really want to do a least a sprint run in 404J, and of course, expand out to left handed rifles sooner than later.I no longer see mention on the website of any other calibers. Anyone know if other calibers are still planned?
That was the funniest story when you told me about the ADCG at the expo @Imac45acp !! I am glad you mentioned it again. The Tsavo's all weather sibling, the Brooks will have the machined in Pic rail like our other rifles. Personally, I'm a KISS and function first guy and thought the integrated rail was a no brainer while designing the receiver. When we released the Junction, the amount of hate that came in for ruining the lines of the gun was pretty intense. My favorite line was referring to the rail as "An aesthetically Disgusting Cheese Grater". Loved it so much, we call it the ADCG rail around the shop! I'm not knocking anyone that wants a classic styled rifle, and happy we can make it happen.

I know I can only speak for myself but I think your sales on a 404J and 416 RM will go gangbusters. To the extent possible, maybe provide one alternative on LOP up to 14.5 inch as the bigger bore recoil will need it. I bet buyers wouldn't have an issue with a slight upcharge on the increased LOP option. 458 Lott buyers can wait last... Longer LOP on the hard kickers is a huge bonus for us taller guys.I know I can only speak for myself but I think your sales on a 404J and 416 RM will go gangbusters.
