I thought I'd drop in to Holland and Holland in London tomorrow and thought I'd take the opportunity to ask a few questions from you too - what would you like to know?

I would be interested how they are doing with their new calibres - 400 H&H and 465 H&H. Have they seen acceptance with their clientele?

Sub 2k?!?

I’d love to see the look on their face
It’ll never happen, and they are one of the few manufacturers that actually warrant their price tag (to an extent). But companies like rigby, holland, etc make rifles of hunters dreams, and for most of us that’s all they will ever be

I would be interested if they considered taking proactive steps for making their 400 H&H more available as ammo or reloading components (brass)?
I.e. stocking it for retail, getting into an agreement with a major brass manufacturer for stocking it or place a large order with them to increase production, etc.

.

I would start off by saying Buongiorno & then I would ask where the Berettas are !

Jesting aside, I would ask to see some of the older journals from between the wars. They are amazing & a pleasure to read a few pages.

Enjoy the visit!

Pheroze, apparently they're typically made to order and they are often sold with a lifetimes supply of ammunition/brass etc and are provided with the ammunition supplier's information. My read is that they don't have many customers choosing those calibres...

They did say they have double rifles curently being made in 500/450NE, 500/416 and 500NE, and I equired (fraudulently at this stage in my life) after the timelines and pricing for a matched pair of .366 (9.3x74r) and 500/416 and whether a single 20bore with removable chokes for paradox and shot use would be possible. TBC

I did handle a takedown rifle and another bolt action in 465H&H which was buttery smooth as expected. Apparently they're bonding Carbon fibre to the wood under the floating barrel but I'm afraid I couldn't quite understand why.

LimbNoMo they would do a pair of 12 bore barrels for it but it's likely the balance would be wildly wrong as the barrel's would be much lighter.

NoStepOnSnek I didn't ask I'm afraid but there looked to be some ex-display socks in the corner that were roughly within a $2k budget.

Seeing as I was there I looked up my Great-Great-Grandfather's ledger entry for a pair of shotguns in 1898 which still shoot beautifully today

Thank you! A lifetime supply of ammo?!?! Almost makes up the difference in the price now!

I LOVE that you were able to look you the shotguns that your family still uses. That is really very special.

Is it possible to buy a double barrel on deferred payment? :D

Ah, I suspect you're labouring under the misunderstanding that the lifetime's ammo was free and included...

I love it too; one of the best things about living within the same 50 miles for a thousand years is the depth of family lore. Letter to father from son re: being wounded at the battle of waterloo? Sure thing, its hanging by the hidden cupboard we found those dueling pistols in and next to the photo of your g-g-uncle taking a model T ford up ben nevis.

I was just thinking about that period of time.

Whew! I am glad you corrected me before I made my case to my wife that it’s a real deal now.

The H&H store is right around the corner up above the Berreta store. In fact on the top floor of the Berreta store there is a door over. I left my umbrella in H&H and the Berreta folks retrieved it for me that way.

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
