Ugliest Rifle

Mmm...not too sure the short carbine version of the moisin is kinda appealing....used to pop up occasionally in the small gunshop where I come from...was tempted on couple occasions...would make a neat truck gun....thought of the metal butt plate and amount of recoil tempered my enthusiasm though.....
I wish I knew the name, but I bet most people know it...it is the double O/U rifle with the two barrels separated by a separate piece of medal that just looks God awful!!!!

I refinished this rifle to the best of my ability, but it still is one of the ugliest rifles I’ve ever seen.

The owner thought it was pretty even though I disagree.

Sorry, he is right and you are wrong my friend...very nice finish and wood!!! Not my style of rifle at all but that is function not style.

Valmet Finland made one like that. They also made them in 2 rifle barrels and 2 shotgun tubes versions. I actually owned one ( A combo 7x57R / 12 ga. model 412S ) for a short, very short while and then came to my senses!

Couldn't disagree more.

First, it is not a "Mannlicher stock", it is a stutzen.

Also, I say the Mannlicher Schoenauer and contemporaneous Mauser wore the stutzen quite well:

Not all Mannlicher Schoenauers were stutzen.

Most stutzen since the MS are thick and clumsy by comparison as if more of an afterthought than original form of design..
I have a 1910 Mannlicher Schoenauer full stock rifle (not a carbine) slim trim stock and an Mannlicher Schoenauer MCA carbine thick and clumsy stock.

Is it a 303/25 epps on a p14 ?
@rdog
Yes an even more improved version of the Epps. The shoulder has been moved forward and a 35 degree angle. The neck is only one calibre and the case has a 1-1.5 degree taper
Takes the case capacity from 47 gn for the standard 25/303 to over 60 gn for my version
Yes in a P14 action, Llijla match grade barrel, Timney trigger set at 2# and meopta 3.5-10 scope. That sob shoots 0.8 inch grot at 200 without a problem. Dead on hold out to 350. With a 2" high at 100 depending on projectiles it zeros again a 275-300 yds and is 8-11" low at 400.

Hello,
I might be able to help you out depending on how many you need. I could probably spare 50-75 .285g A-Frames. They are factory pulls that look like new. Let me know if you are still looking,
Thanks,
Gary
