Ethnic cuisine

Hungarian.

Gulyas, chicken paprikash, porkolt are favorites of mine and I love being in the kitchen with my wife cooking our traditional dishes on Sundays. The smells of paprika, dill and bay leaves in a heavy cream sauce with fresh bread just out of the oven are comforting food memories of my grandmother’s kitchen when I was a child.

Are we just talking about true ethnic cuisine from the lands we have visited, or ethnic cuisine that we have eaten at home?

Lived in a lot of countries. Ethnic food in America isn't going to be like Ethnic food in the local place.

Had the following in America that was totally different than at home even if prepared by a native of the place.

1. Boerwors
2. Anything Japanese
3. Italian food is totally different
4. New Mexico has better Mexican food than Mexico does
5. Meat pies
6.
list goes on, but I find that if I have eaten a meal in America in an ethnic restaurant it does not prepare me the real thing.

20 years living all over the world, Europe, Australia, Asia.

Makes my mouth water just reading this.

Ethiopian.

Bar none the best Ethiopian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at is in Tanzania. It’s called Addis in Dar… anyone hunting or visiting Tanzania otherwise is doing themselves a huge disservice if they don’t give it a try. It’s in the r embassy district… simply exquisite…

What's your favorite ethnic cuisine other than your homeland?
I'm partial to good Mexico mexican.
French cuisine (particularly Cote De Beouf and Pate De Foie Gras).

But I enjoy almost all kinds of cuisine (Italian food, Southern soul food, Lebanese food, Thai food, German food to name a few).

It’s hard to pick a specific one for me, because I love a huge variety
Vietnamese, Chinese Dim Sum, Mediterranean , Persian, Mexican, Texan, Tex-mex ,
Kosher deli, Brazilian steak , Indian chicken, Cajun- seafood
Drives my wife crazy because I want to eat something different every meal!
And she is mainly Tex-mex , Chinese, hamburgers, Italian, and considers everything else to spicy or exotic

I’m really partial to good Tex-Mex, as well as barbecue! Try Franklin’s in Austin— best in the world! As long as you’re in Austin try Cisco’s or Guerro’s for the Tex/Mex! Also, don’t leave Austin without visiting the Texas Chili Parlor for a bowl
Of chili and a mad dog margarita. Happy indigestion to all!

Amsterdam is probably one of my favorite food places because it’s so multi cultural food wise for street vendors

Hard to choose but Deutsches would have to be mine between schnitzel, the different types of wurst and Kaiserschmarn.

Ethiopian food is excellent, I highly recommend trying it.
Second that.

That said I love food so in every cuisine there is something to like. Germany and eastern Europe is great, also southern Europe, Portugal . I can go on and on. Getting hungry typing this..

Arab comes first.

Japanese, Indian, Italian, Greek.

Funny… right behind Ethiopian for me is Spanish coastal cuisine… the meals I ate on Majorca were incredible.. every one of them were divine..

But Spain didn’t make your list :)

Lots of nations have good food. Hungary is the one that surprised me the most. Best food I have eve had on a hunt.

I used to date a gal of Hungarian descent whose grandparents came here from Hungary. Went to visit her folks in TN. Her grandmother whipped up the best Hungarian goulash I have ever eaten. I told her I’d marry her if she could cook like that.:ROFLMAO:

I also enjoy your food when cooked properly. We buy chorizo and manchego almost weekly here in Germany.

I used to live in Andalucia for a couple of years. I was a fan of the solomilo steak con salsa pimienta Of course the paella and tortilla Espanola.

Still make all of those things at home.

Lots of good ethnic cuisine out there. One of my favorites that isn't considered often is Nepalese. It's sort of like northern Indian but really more Chinese with the momo dumplings, etc. It's fantastic.

Just about all of it!

But I love Indian and sushi both. I fully admit that I don’t always remember what every Indian dish is called but I love the spices and flavors.

I’m also really partial to Moroccan food but good places aren’t as easy to find.

Thai Basil and Panang curry Beef. That I enjoy brushing up on my Thai when I visit the local places.

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
