Watch Your Booked Flights!

I think all the airlines are like that. I know United does the same thing. It is best to go through a travel agent because they keep tabs on the current airlines and can make changes as they happen.

Is your flight from Frankfurt to Windhoek on a Lufthansa plane or is it Eurowings which is Lufthansa's budget airlines? In the past I believe Lufthansa was only flying to Windheok with Eurowings. The service and business class seats are not the same on Eurowings. Not that Lufthansa is know for its service and business class cabin comforts but Eurowings is a step down from even from Lufthansa
Lufthansa has renamed it to Discover Airlines from Eurowings.

For now, the declaration paperwork is not something to worry with. Perhaps it will be in the future, but not as of now.
Thanks On deltas website it was saying it was required paperwork. I wasn't sure about it. Appreciate it.

We got an email from them yesterday changed our domestic flights times for June also. Does anyone here know anything about the south african traveler declaration paperwork? Is that something we have to fill out? My buddy and are both renting rifles have nothing to declare. Thanks
I just tried to fill that out and it would not take it for my May hunt. I think it has to be within a day or so of departure.

I tried to fill out also it was asking for southafrican address and travel number. We don't have anything to declare I didn't know if it's a delta thing or south african thing. I was going to try to call delta tomorrow.

I filled out the declaration paper work last year as it was required by Delta. Wasn’t really necessary in JNB but you never know

I have flights booked with Delta in July. I received an email a few weeks ago informing me that the departure times had changed slightly. It wasn't enough of a change to mess anything up though. I will be checking more often now though.

No change to DL200 for May 6 departure.

I’m driving up to ATL and staying overnight in a hotel on the 5th then checking in early on the 6th around 12- 1pm. (may as well get my money’s worth out of the hotel). I originally did this to have a romantic dinner night with my wife when I made my plans. Now, it looks like the difficulties are mostly affecting domestic travel and not so much international? For as much as I hate Atlanta, I’m glad I decided to make the 4 hour drive and spend on dinner and a hotel instead of a connection out of Tallahassee.

We come to this forum to learn about Africa and African hunting, please keep your political opinions to yourself! Know one wants to here them, there are other places you can do that!

Thank you!

It has nothing to do with my political views, I am far from a "lefty". My point was that actions have consequences. The chaos going on in air travel right now is a direct consequence of some very stupid actions. Multiple airlines aren't cancelling flights for fun. They're doing it because they see it as the best option to deal with the current chaos. Chaos that is a direct result of bad decisions. I don't care who is making the bad decisions, we should all be a lot more focused on that than the "R" or "D" next to someone's name on the news. Stupid is as stupid does.

Let's see, it's Trumps fault because he "turned the world into a circus". Explain to me how it's actually Trumps fault when Delta canceled paid tickets and the group of hunters had to rebook the exact same flight at the exact same time and price? I'll wait. Post your ant-Trump BS on the political thread, not here.
Please provide an example of someone booking the same flights for the same prices. I'll wait. Your "explanation" is that airlines are wasting their own time and money cancelling, then reselling the same flights, for the same amount of money? Just to be dicks? Just for fun?

It seems like a pile of work for the airlines to cancel flights, than offer them again for the same price. Bad business too. Which is why that isn't happening. As I said before, it isn't Just Delta its all the major US airlines. All for the same reasons.

Maybe some people paid money for travel insurance, which then paid the difference on a rebook, but the insurance company will be taking the hit on that, not the airline.

I'm anti stupidity, whoever exhibits it.

I've been looking at Denver, Newark, Jo'burg flights on United for the last several months, trying to gauge the cheapest days and trip durations for my trip next May. Fortunately, tickets aren't yet for sale on the dates I will be travelling but the cheapest options were around 180k to 190k points around the beginning of the year. Now the cheapest Options are 265k to 270k points. At least 30% more expensive. Fuel is a much smaller percentage of a short, domestic flight than an ultra ling haul flight like ATL-JHB of Newark-JHB. So those long flights are going to see much larger % increases, or they'll just be cut all together. Its happened in the past with these very long routes. Flights from both US coasts to Singapore are the first example that comes to mind. Planes are more fuel efficient than they've ever been, but airlines simply wont fly these routes if they can deploy the same planes/crews on more profitable flights else where. If oil prices keep climbing, I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of these routes started to get cancelled all together.

Damn! Did they even send you an email? I leave out of ATL for ORTambo on 4-16.
Hedge, I can wholeheartedly say I will prove pissed beyond belief if Delta cancels your ATL to JNB flight on the 16th. I mean, all others, not so worried about, but that one flight best stay its path. LOL

I can't put it any better than that, fellas. If it's canceled, we RIOT! Hahahah!

American Airlines is also changing flight schedules / canceling flights and I wouldn’t be surprised if there is another change or two with my domestic AA flights before heading to Tanzania this fall on Qatar. Steve with TWG was all over it as soon as the schedule change happened last week.

These issues aren’t related to flight congestion or cancellations of runs that go through the Middle East by the way, these USA based carriers are cancelling flights that are low-margin. The major US carriers did not hedge their fuel-cost risks and they are now calculating just how much of a financial hit they will take honoring their flights.

Their goal now is to cancel as many flights as possible, then create new flights priced 2x-3x the price so they can CYA themselves.

This info was covered a few days ago on Zero Hedge. The US airlines suck and they have shady business principles.

American Airlines cancelled my flight Vancouver direct to Dallas with no notice to me or the travel agent. They changed it to Vancouver - Chicago - Dallas with a total of 1 hour layover. 1 hour to change from international to domestic and clear customs??? I booked a United flight for a different route and have received notices from United of some minor schedule changes, one change was a 2 minute later departure.

Check AA using others' equipment guys. SALE

I only fly Emirates & Qatar to Africa, even SA. Much prefer Emirates.

Wheels up 4/11 for Bullawayo. Had booked Qatar business myself as it's with a bow in January for $10 and change. Qatar is fully refunding irrespective of fare in segments now 3/6-3/26. Since still no fly zone I decided to buy a fully refundable backup and return one of them Full refund was $12k Delta/Turkish so I decided it'd be cheaper to get a non refund BA and pay the Qatar fee worse case scenario.

Called Jennifer at Travel Express. BA business 3 stops $9k so less than Qatar but 3 stops. Not gonna do that with a bow as it needs to be there. 2 stops was a little more than $1k more than my earlier ticket.

Asked her out of curiosity what's first? AA sale was 12k so 2k more than original and 4k off BA First. SOLD!

YMMV Good luck

These are traumatic times. I have a safari booked for August and I will be surprised if I am able to make it. Actually, I'll be surprised if the whole world doesn't go up in flames by then. A special thank you to those who voted Republican in 2024. Actually, there a few sensible GOP in D.C. Two I think ... and both refuse to run again this fall. Don't blame the airlines. Blame those who made their mark at the ballot box.
HEY GUY this aint the political forum, thanks

I looked at Etihad Airlines JFK to Abu Dabi to JNB. Business is $8,000 less than United now if it flies. Bought refundable tickets.

They all suck. I booked Lufthansa to Namibia in May. In two months they’ve changed the schedule 3 times. I’m sure there will be more.

I flew Untied one time in 2021, real bad experience in Newark and with flight crew. Was flying business and it was terrible service and long waits at times. I swore I never would do United again. So it’s Delta and will put up with whatever happens.
With the few people I know who have flown 10+ times per year they all use Delta.
Personally never had a bad experience with Delta

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?
