Greetings from British Columbia

Greetings all from British Columbia, Canada. Middle aged here but a pretty new hunter. Lots of time in the bush and with firearms but never really had a deep interest in hunting until the last few years. Life circumstances now allow more time for personal pursuits. Will be working more seriously this year for deer and possibly elk but now also thinking about Africa for plains game for added experience.
Hello!

I live in Washington, and have.made one hunting trip to BC. I took a.bull moose, black bear and mule deer. Good trip. I've hunted Africa twice and that is really exciting.

Let us know if you have any questions about hunting anything, anywhere. Lots of good information and helpful people here.

Welcome!

Doug

I'm just up the rd, 3 hrs North in Campbell River, once the salmon capital of the world. Now probable catch and release salmon capital. I am in Vic often, normally at the taxidermist on lagoon. My best bud.

I have assisted many fellow Canadians from this site with answers concerning safari, couple in Vic and couple from other BC towns, being Canadian we have more and different rules than our friends south of border. Also import all my own dip and pack trophies, save $1000's.

If you have any questions, concerns or just want to BS about the best hunting you can imagine -safari just DM me. More than willing to help any way I can.

Just remember safari is a life changing addiction.

Cool! I grew up in Port McNeill, so CR was always the first stop south. My parents moved there in 1967, so I recall the days before the current highway north when we had to go through Gold River or via ferry from Kelsey Bay. I'll be in touch for sure on all things hunting as I'm now old enough to know what I don't know, which is lots!

Welcome!! Glad to have you here with the rest of us!

welcome! Another Islander! We should start a big bore shoot at VFGA! I think there are 2 or 3 AH member in Victoria alone.

@Kootenay Hunter and I had no problems at VFGA Malahat during our workup of his 500 NE and my 416 Rigby prior to going to South Africa in Aug 2024 or any range time since then until a couple weekends ago. The RSO was really good about it but noted the posted rules indicated a caliber limit of 338 Lapua and that the template was a fed requirement. The range exec acknowledged it shouldn’t be about just caliber as it would rule out most of the blackpowder boys. We have verbal authority from the exec for now and that they are working on it, but just be aware of this issue and be nice if challenged.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
