Iran has started hitting refineries and oil infrastructure in the Gulf. Has anyone started hitting Iran's oil infrastructure yet?
I heard rumors about the USA totally shutting down all docking facilities and pipelines Iran has , I don’t think it has to be destructive to the structure or bombed we can just shut it down remotely, sadam Husain rampage and scorched earth policy wouldn’t serve Iran well imo

We can, and I am sure already have, blockaded anything leaving by sea.

Wonder if someone will tell them to stop hitting oil infrastructure (refineries, pipelines etc.) in the Gulf or theirs will get destroyed as well.
It’s a bad environmental move to bomb Iranian oil structure in global politics, better to keep letting them be the villains in this mess, tit for tat looks bad on a global stage

We can produce all we need internally. Texas is producing only a fraction of what is possible.

Really! I wasn’t aware of this. Are you sure? Or did you just read it on the internet?

I have heard that vehicle registration fees and such in Colorado are rather high?
Since I have a small ranch and livestock, I qualify for “farm plates” that are less expensive.

Start with what is at least partially true. The US could always produce more oil, and Texas can also produce more oil. Maybe even enough to make up for the 6-8MM barrels a days which the US imports.

But:

1. You can’t just increase production in a day, a week, a month or a year. To increase oil production by the amounts involved would require immense amounts of capital, not just for drilling, but also for services and infrastructure. Those who supply the capital would want to see that this is a long term investment. Even if wells in the Permian have pretty quick payouts, facilities like pipelines, storage and refineries, don’t.

Since the US is currently producing historical record volumes of oil, there is no excess capacity for additional large volumes of oil, let alone the millions of barrels you would need.

2. You won’t necessarily produce the type of oil which US refineries are configured to run. Many refineries need heavier grades of crude which tends to be imported (mostly from Canada lately) or synthetic crude, pretty much all of which currently comes form Canada.

3. I could go on but I think that’s enough.

The bottom line is that the US supplying all of its own oil requirements is, so to speak, a ‘pipe’ dream.

It's all about oil.

Damn....I thought it was all about peoples rights....Or nuclear bombs,....or failure to negotiate,.... or religion,....or being a shitty neighbor......????

As said I know bugger all about them....
Apologies for the outburst, but it was kind of like you said that .243 Winchester was just like a .475 Nitro Express, because, you know, they both have a bolt action, a stock, and a barrel...

Beat me to it. At least my dog is safe, and I don't have to look at that hair any longer. Mullin will do a great job, and is likely from as safe a state as the party has.

Implying your boss approved your inside contract award in congressional testimony was not a wise strategy.
If you dig a little deeper, you’ll see that the company owned by the husband of a former DHS Spokeswoman had a subcontract for only approximately $220k to conduct five remote filmings, produce videos and other services having to do with the filming. Theirs was a very small part of the overall advertising budget for DHS, reported as being $220,000,000. I don’t think $220k is absurd in that type of industry for five sets, all the employees, equipment and lest we forget, some profit.

The advertisements were a bit over the top as to her prominent role, I will give you that, but I would have to disagree with anyone that doesn’t find her to be an attractive woman.

She definitely made a mistake in saying the the deceased protester “brandished” a handgun. She definitely jumped to conclusions instead of being careful with her words. Words matter.

All that said, her agency did an amazing job on securing the border and that’s an indisputable fact. I thank her for that.

Noem was marginal as a secretary. The advertising campaign was ridiculous. Especially letting her husband profit off of it. Saying the boss approved :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

A one two punch with Mullin and Homan is about as no nonsense as they come. Mullin should do a much better job than Noem. I just hope we get another Mullin and not another Lankford as Senator.
Her husband? You are mistaken.

I know you were in the industry and you know my son is a PE for a major. He told me two days ago that they will be drilling in the TX Permian Basin and NM Delaware Basin for years and years at a high rate. There’s so much to do that they have to spread it out and that’s saying something as THE major in the industry. The reserves are huge.

I imagine we’d want the infrastructure in place for the replacement government to get their economy rolling again as soon as the old one gets torn down.

I am really confused about the logic of this now. Azerbaijan has no US bases or anything to do with Iran. I wonder if the Armenians are doing it and letting Iran shoulder the blame.

If true, this scorched Earth tactic is going to backfire even more.

It was in this link.

I was reading an article yesterday about Trump building a road ( Trump Peace and Prosperity Road, or something like that) from Azerbaijan to Turkey bypassing the current route through Iran which has pissed Iran off. Only reason for targeting Azerbaijan that I can think of.

That’s my understanding too of our refineries being built to process the sour crude from the Middle East (and now Canada) which we imported for decades before the relatively recent sweet crude oil boom here which many our refineries can’t/don’t process without spending millions to retrofit them for refining our sweet crude. The oil companies export much of our lighter crude at a premium price overseas and we import the heavier crude at a lower price as our refineries are set up to process the heavier crude. At least this is my understanding after reading several articles on the subject. Maybe a petroleum expert(s) here can chime in and clarify it?

Foreign companies drill for many companies in Saudi, UAE etc.... And have assets there. If the war becomes tit for tat on oil structure, they will become targets. I am following daily, so far one oil refinery was hit twice, and one unconfirmed news that one oil rig is hit. But for oil rig, this is coming from non verifiable source, can easily be fake news.
But it can also escalate to this point.

Suez Canal, and Bab el Mandeb are two next possible area targets to disrupt the global trade.

Been reading news today: various "influencers" living in Dubai, are under strict control about what they are allowed to publish on internet, under penalty of imprisonment or heavy fine. Same and more strict is for the oil fields. News will be heavily controlled, and hard to pass through in real time. Companies will heavily control this, as it will certainly affect on their shares stock values. I suspect "no photography" rule applies.

RINOS and closet Dems always attack our side first while claiming to be loyal to it. Many with those feelings unknowingly reveal them by using slick language structure like, “my party”, while never clearly defining loyalty to any political party nor saying which is “my party”. Clever but nonetheless revealing. It is a common strategy used by those without a loyalty based core system. They feel they can never be held accountable for anything. Very slick, but obvious once you learn to watch for it. ;)

Misses the point entirely. Oil is a global commodity. Even if we cover our needs with domestic production, price will be set by global supply and demand. Take a major supply point out, short the world’s oil supply, and the price goes up globally.
