I've been spending a bit of time on the range with a Rigby Big Game PH in 375H&H I picked up recently. I'm taking it with me on a late season buffalo and Hyena hunt this year.

I've worked up a load using 350 grain Woodleigh heavy duty softs which I will use on the hunt later this year. I also worked up a load with 250 grain Hornady CX bullets for pigs around my home hunting grounds.

It seems to shoot everything well but that group with the 350 grain Woodleighs is easily the best group I've ever shot with a big calibre, 3 rounds through the same hole at 65 yards.

Classic cartridge, Classic Safari rifle and Aussie made projectiles. I’d say you are good to go.
Good luck

Absolutely beautiful rifle with fantastic accuracy!!! Congratulations!!!

That's a handsome rifle, i'd love one just like it. I like the touch of the polished rather than blued bolt handle, seen as well on the current Mauser 98 magnums sporting the same action. I chose the same look for my own custom .375 H&H.

Very nice.

The accuracy of all the Rigby Big Game rifles I’ve seen and shot has been consistently impressive.

Gorgeous rifle and on my desire list. The Rigbys of today just flat outright shoot, amazingly well. That 350gr at 2325fps should penetrate and hammer damn near anything.

Well done sir. She appears as deadly as she is fine.

Forum rules say you must list a price for firearms.

I opened the thread hoping it would be for sale. Beautiful rifle that will serve you well, and I hope to see it again soon in a hunt report. ;)

It certainly will be in a hunt report when I get back from the BVC early October

Such a sexy gun

At DSC yesterday I compared the Mauser and Rigby side by side.
Same company owns them and Blaser!
They were just across the isle from each other. Talked to the young man who the new Mauser for US import was his project. I had already purchased a 375 and showed him the picture and serial # and he remembered it as he has picked out all the wood blanks for ea gun. Even pulled it up on his phone. I was impressed!
I’ve only had mine 2 weeks but was able to scope it and shoot a few rounds of my go to load (H4350 & 300gr A-frame) and it shoots sub 0.5MOA! Needless to say to say another one in 300WM followed me home!
All Rigbys are Mauser barreled action, they get shipped to England where they are stocked and engraved! Rigby hand rubbed oil finish is slightly better but otherwise fit and finish is essentially identical the best I could tell in side by side comparison.
The Rigby will likely always have better resale value!
Both are great rifles. The gentleman promised me that for Mauser the next out would be coming shortly in 416Rigby then likely the last in the series will be a 458 Lott

Obviously there is a pricing difference with Rigby about 20% higher but that will likely be offset in any resale value.

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
Impala cull hunt for camp meat!
