We are only a month and a half out till my third hunt in Zimbabwe. The is by far my most ambitious hunt to date and certainly has the possibility of being the most epic. Four of the biggest highlights of this hunt are:

1. Again I'm hunting with my good friend and PH Buzz Charlton of Charlton McCallum Safaris.
2. My good friend Richard Harland and his girl friend will be coming along on this hunt. If you don't know who Richard Harland is, find out. It will be worth your time. As my back up rifle I'm bring my Mannlicher Schonauer magazine rifle in 458 Win Mag. This was Richard's favorite rifle and he used one most of his career.
3. I will be hunting Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Lion and Leopard all with my new rifle (not in my possession yet) and that new rifle is...
4. A Rigby double in 450 No 2. According to Rigby this is the first 450 No 2 they have ever built. I'm going to call it the younger brother of my WJ Jeffery 475 No 2 that I killed my last Big 5 with. Why the 450 No 2? Because it was Ian Nyschens favorite gun in his career, a 450 No 2 built by Rigby - until he lost it to the bottom of the Zambezi River when his boat hit a submerged rock and flipped over. Ian was a friend of Richard Harland and Buzz Charlton.
5. My friend Andy Mac will be filming the hunt. There is no finer videographer in the hunting world. He filmed my last Zimbabwe hunt. Hopefully this time an eagle won't take the drone out of the sky, and an elephant won't pick it up and fling it, ruining it, as happened the first day of my last Zimbabwe hunt.
6. The love of my life will accompany me on this hunt.

Okay that's six. In reality there are even more I could mention but those will unfold in due time as the hunt progresses and I post it here.

Sounds like an epic adventure and I look forward to hearing about it, and of course one day being able to undertake something similar!

Sounds epic !! Best to you and hunting party; looking forward to a summation and report with video .

Sounds like an amazing hunt

I got a copy of “The Hunting Imperative” that I swear I’ll have Richard Harland sign some day.

That and “Months of the Sun” are my favorites.

That’s going to be an amazing camp. I hope you record some fireside chats among the great ones of our sport.

I wish I was you! What a phenomenal safari!

Until the hunt, more about the rifle please. :) Rising bite or Shikari? Have they sent you pictures yet?

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is 239 565-8988. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
