Although I do wear it everyday, I was always afraid to wear it on a hunt, especially in the mountains. But I always secretly wanted too lol. I think you guys just may convince me to do it. I was debating buying a Hamilton Khaki Field which is a great watch but far less expensive so I wouldn't feel as bad. But like @spike.t this watch I can even wear if the ocean rises to 6000 ft above sea level to reach me in the mountains, plus I have another 2000ft to go above my head and I am still good. I have not figured out the breathing under water part yet, but I will be able to tell time LOL

I'm not a watch guy so I have little basis for opinion on this. I've only had one watch most of my life, a Tag that my parents gave me for my 18th birthday. I wore it lots of rough and overseas places for years, but recently decided not to wear it as much because I'd be really bummed if I lost it. I've also got a Swiss Army that belonged to my dad that I occasionally wear, but that also has sentimental value. Earlier this year I got a Timex Expedition for general use and as something in which I don't care what happens to it. They also seem to have good reviews for durability, but DD strongly disagrees. He says he's had a few fail on him. We'll see how long mine lasts. For ~$60 Canadian dollars and I love the look of it, I can't go wrong.

He has a number of recommendations ranging from Casio G Shocks to Hamiltons. He kept all his recommendations in the video under $1000 USD.

The last segment is very interesting. I’ve never heard of the “psychology of watches”


But, I have always believed in my own anecdotal evidence over the years. That on average a man wearing a watch is more self reliant and reliable. Of course never 100%.

I think the same about carrying a knife.

If you ask me what time it is or to borrow my knife. I instantly have suspicions on your reliability. You will most likely be a liability to me when extrem situations arise. The boat is sinking, there is a fire, an active shooter. Or as mundane as giving me 1st or CPR.

Of course I know people I trust my life to that don’t wear watches. But they are an exception not the rule.

Of course everyone has different experiences and belief systems. I’m sure all the non watch wearers here are 100% reliable
