Cat

I don’t believe there is or has been ever a “real” photo of a Black Mt Lion.

You don’t think that looks exactly like the first Black Leopard picture but with his head down ?

I’m not an expert on cats, but the ears look different to me. More low and round on the one you posted and the one I posted was taller and pointier. Maybe it’s just a younger leopard trait for the ears idk.

Well we will have to agree to disagree on that one, to me ears look very similar ?

Panther is a group name but we as civilians mostly call the Black ones & leopards in India Panthers .

Americans seem to have endless names for Cougars/Mt Lions must be over 10 ?

It is stated by many animal experts that you can’t get Black Lions or Puma but who knows, I know I’ve never seen or heard of one or a Black Caracal.
Strangely have seen or heard of Black Golden Cats (like a long tailed Caracal) in West Africa & Black Clouded Leopards in Indonesia, Black Serval rarely but about.

I know I’d love to shoot a Black Leopard (or Jaguar) but unfortunately only semi common in Ethiopia or Kenya in Africa some in India & common in lots of Asian countries, either far too expensive or no hunting allowed.

I think Black Jaguars are not rare either ?
@Sarg the “broadside” photo is Not a jaguar - the spots “rosettes” appear wrong (no black dot inside the rosette circle?) also head looks more Leopard like. But since I’ve Never seen one expect in a Zoo and Never shot one….what the hell do I know

@HankBuck which pic did you mean the two standing SxS with the spotted leopard in front, if so I said Leopard ?

The two laying down hard to tell 100% but I think I’m 99.9%

@Sarg - YOU are correct, you did say “Leopard or Panther” and that was the photo I Refered to….they are both standing broadside with the leopard in front. The photo above with both laying down—-heads a top one another appear to be a jaguar atop the black one. Now, I’ve never seen a live jaguar but saw several jaguar skins and mounts at a hunting lodge in Mexico —where they are still roaming around and apparently hunted on occasion.

Thanks bud, yes that’s right, I should have noted I meant these two laying on each other are I think 99.9% Jaguars, one which is black !

The written word, like Texting can go either way & end in a gun fight lol !

Talking on phone much better & much better & best is Face to Face, all becomes clear then lol !

Thanks for the pictures of the black leopard. I've don't think I have ever even seen a picture of one.

I know for a fact, that I've never seen a live one, but I have seen a live black jaguar.

I've seen several live Mountain Lions (cougars, pumas, catamounts, panthers, painters, etc..., the list goes on for the common name of Puma concolor), but I've never seen even any evidence of a black one.

(My wife is 8 months older than me, does that make her a cougar???)
