Charlie Kirk was one of the most dangerous humans in the United States of America, he threatened a way of life, he threatened a system that took decades to put in place, and they killed him for it. Charlie embodied 5 things better than any figure in America today:

1. He loved Jesus Christ
2. He was self-educated
3. He openly discussed both
4. He focused those discussions on the hearts and minds of young people
5. He was self-made and answered only to himself and his creator

These are all things democrats despise, any one alone would elicit vile disgust from the left, all 5 in one human made him quite possibly the most dangerous man in the world.

God Bless Charlie Kirk, God Bless Erika Kirk, and God Bless their Children.
Amen Bro.

I notice on Facebook many who gives "laugh smileys" when people write in remembrance of CK are (mu)slimes and freaks. Charlie could really call them out from their burrowes...:LOL

Kirk was a staunch conservative, and he was part of the Tea party movement back in 2012, hence, why the more establishment types don't like him

Is this the shooter?

doubtful..

the FBI has released 2x photos of the suspected shooter.. he's wearing jeans.. the guy in the video is wearing shorts..

Regarding the Kirk assassination, a friend has long called what was going on "chumming for monsters." It is akin to putting blood in the water for sharks to attract them. In this case, it is appealing to sick individuals to commit violence.

The Left and its rhetoric treat those they disagree with as less than human. Or what Hitler and the Nazis called "untermensch". Conservatives are called Hitler, fascists, racists, divisive (to use MSNBC's word), anti-trans and anti-gay bigots and the list continues and continues.

As he put it, the Leftists are reaching out in the most crass way possible to the very deepest levels of the culture, where the monsters swirl and snap and hope for their moment in the sun, their chance at immortality.

We saw the result yesterday and in the days before at Annunication Church and School.
There's actually a phrase for that - "stochastic terrorism."

Update from Fox and supportive of @mdwest 's post. Clearly, and contrary to the speculation all over X and elsewhere, this was not a "professional." If the report is accurate, they will have him or his body soon. Likely a self-radicalized nut job who has spent too long on the internet.

Authorities have recovered what they believe to be the firearm used to assassinate conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the FBI announced Thursday.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls made the announcement during a Thursday morning press conference at Utah Valley University.

The weapon "is a high powered bolt action rifle. That rifle was recovered in a wooded area where the shooter had fled. So the FBI laboratory will be analyzing this weapon. Investigators have also collected footwear, the impression of a palm print and forearm imprints for analysis," Bohls said.

"We are not sure how far he has gone," Bohls added about the assassin.

Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed that the shooter appeared to be "of college age," but he declined to offer more identifying details.

Mason said footage from the campus showed the shooter climbed to the roof of a building overlooking Kirk's event. He then jumped from the building and fled to a nearby neighborhood after the shooting.

It's remarkable how people think it takes someone with an "expert background" to make that shot. I just had to explain to someone who came up with some radical conspiracy theory this was a foreign military op.

- 200 yds
- From an elevated position
- Likely prone or kneeling with the edge as a rest
- No wind (understood the area is in a valley)
- No wind disturbances from buildings/thermals/etc. (not that it matters from 200 yds)
- 30-06 rifle (confirmed), although you could speculate from the added bass in the crack it wasn't sub-30 cal.
- Scoped (confirmed)

Someone could be taught to make that shot in a day.

Then I had to explain no, he didn't hit him in the carotid. It was likely just ruptured from the massive trauma.

Massive security failure. Not that he is as high profile as Trump but c'mon. They saw the guy crawling on the roof.

The last two weeks have hit the wife and I hard. Iryna the Ukrainian refugee getting stabbed, the Auburn professor, and now Charlie Kirk. A father of 2, a Christian, a husband...gone.

And worst of all...people are celebrating it. This world has started to get to me.

If that is the case, I suspect they will be talking extensively to the questioner when Mr. Kirk was shot. Not an expert on police investigations, but have seen quite a few.

I've seen the "hand signal" video, the guy in black sure looks like some signaling, but he could have been private security.

This guy looking back toward the shooters position and cheering might be enjoying an interview with le as well.

What the left conveniently forget, is that the Nazi’s were in fact a leftist party.

Not necessarily..

Kirk is a private citizen.. he isnt POTUS, or a governor, or even a major metro area mayor..

His estimated net worth at the time of his death was +/- $12M.

Do you have any idea what a professional protective detail costs?

My budget when I ran the PPU at the World Bank was just north of $4M annually.. and we were under manned, under equipped, etc for the mission set we were expected to perfom.. and that was 20 years ago.. that same detail today would easily cost $7M+ a year minimum..

There are only so many potential threats that can be addressed.. Assume Kirks personal security team was 4 guys (which would be pretty heavy for someone of his prominence, exposure, etc... most celebrities, entertainers, senior executives in the fortune 50, etc roll with 1-2 people MAX plus a trained driver).. they then get augmented by the University Police Department, who ARE NOT trained in protective services, but generally handle crowd control and petty crimes issues related to any event on the university campus..

The most obvious and most prevailing threat to Kirk almost certainly was physical attacks onstage or when inbound or outbound to/from the stage.. with a limited security apparatus, you prioritize threats and address what you can with what youve got.. if there was a KNOWN threat of assassination, it is highly unlikely Kirk would have been at the event at all, or there would have been a major plus up of University and local municipal police requested to help mitigate that threat..

In the private security world when threats like that become known the most common threat mitigation technique is simple avoidance... you just dont go "there" or do "whatever" it is you were scheduled to do..

While at the WB I also had something called the "Watch Office".. the budget for our watch office was close to $12M a year.. it was staffed with a significant number of former CIA, DIA, NSA, etc personnel... their job was to monitor global information sources and to conduct analysis of that information to help us understand the threats to WB leaders we were charged with protecting..

They did a good job of detecting things in advance for us.. like at one point we knew the "activist" that had "pied" Bill Gates and others was planning to do the same thing with our protectee.. we were able to coordinate with local law enforcement (we were doing a series of events in Europe at the time) and have them detain the guy when he entered the controlled area of the event..

99.99999% of the protective details in the private sector dont have access to a "Watch Office".. they dont truly know what active threats are out there.. sometimes if a federal agency like the FBI becomes aware of a threat, they will contact the security team and let them know and share information... but far more often than not, they dont....

Its a pretty safe bet that Kirks security people were doing the best possible job they could with the very limited resources and assets they had available to them.. and that the University PD was in the same boat.. you cant possibly mitigate or avoid every conceivable threat out there.. the only way to do that is to lock the protectee in a lead lined basement 20 stories underground and never let them come out to see or be seen.. They simply dont have the same kind of resources that even a major metro area mayor has (like Chicago's Barry Johnson who has 150 personnel assigned to his protection... or back when I was doing that sort of work, the Memphis, TN Mayor had 18 personnel assigned to his protective detail (no clue how many are assigned today).. and they definitely dont have the same level of resources or assets of a major state governor, or a POTUS, VPOTUS, or even a FLOTUS..

I wouldnt be so quick to blame the security people here..

Never heard of Charlie Kirk before, but Rest In Peace.

No justification whatsoever for this youg man to be killed.

I have to agree. it’s laughable calling this a professional or very skilled shot.

If he was aiming for the head or the chest, he missed by 8 to 10 inches at 200 yards. and got lucky and hit the left side of the neck.

I standby my initial assessment guessing it’s another radical college aged douche bag.

Not the famed jackal.

A metaphor comes to mind: A person uproots a dandelion to get rid of it, but then a dozen dandelions spring from the spot as replacements. Hopefully the events will cause many to recognize Charlie Kirk's virtues, turn from violence and put into practice in their daily lives his civil and fact based discussion of issues.

I can't say I disagree with anything you said in terms of cost, manpower requirements, intel reports, pre-logistical prep, etc.

He was setup in a giant bowl with multiple, and numerous, elevated vantage points surrounding him. It was a bad deal all around. There never is an imminent risk, until there is. One solution is not to be there.

Was there a hard perimeter setup? Not likely. PSD should have known that. I'm not even saying they feasibly could have setup a hard perimeter on a college campus like that. Moreover, they should have known the inherent risk of that. IE: Someone pre-scouting/prepping an elevated marksman perch. Which is exactly what happened.

It really was just a bad deal.

I've done PSD in the past. No one as high profile as Charlie. This was also years ago before social media created exposure.

I'm sorry...someone should have been watching the elevated vantage points. The second that potential threat was spotted on the roof...cover, immediate exfil. It was 200 yds off within the frontal 180 degree FOV. Wasn't like it was behind them.

Maybe it's just me but in crowds with elevated vantage points, shopping malls with multiple floors, downgrading theatres with balconies and such: I always scan the elevated vantage points, front, right, left, rear, etc.

You're right though, the concern probably was close, physical threats and the LE was probably there to mitigate altercations in the crowd.

Yes, let’s not fuel the paid political assassin BS.

Trained professionals do not aim at the neck arteries and spine.

They would aim either centered between the nipples. Or centered between the eyes.
The credit card size box at the bridge of the nose to eye brow and between the eyes.

So if a pro, he missed by 8” at 200ish yards.

More likely just another unhinged douche bag.
I am guessing but I think it’s someone watching to many movies and Trying a headshot and closed there eyes and pulled down and left

Idk and really doubt we will ever know for sure

Or center mass and they missed high. If you watch, his shirt pinches on the entry side just above his clavicle, round exits rear right. Either way, you and @Altitude sickness make perfect and valid points.

We will never know, like you said.

Either way, they need to get this guy and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. Utah has the death penalty which seems appropriate.

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc
