Argentina Exporter Raided Trophies Seized

I was at the Great American Outdoor show in Harrisburg PA today and booked a hunt for a Red Stag and Blackbuck hunt in La Pampa Argentina for March of 2026. Is all this stuff behind us now? Can I assure I will get my trophies after the hunt?
I hunted with @MG Hunting March 2024 and still no news about trophies and no updates.
They are a good outfit and I was happy with the hunt but honestly very disappointed with the lack of communications about what's the status of my trophies.

I am surprised. Have you contacted them?

Dear Migrabill,

Hope this e-mail finds you well.

This whole situation it seems to be about to end, a couple of days ago it was demanded the restitution of the trophies and we are waiting for the response. Probably it will take some time to do it ( around a month more ) but I think we are all living the end of this.

Regarding your question of if this will delay future exportations, I don’t think so as I´ve been told that once everything is squared away it won’t be necessary to re make the paperwork already done and the exportations should go out quickly.

If there is any other doubt I´ll be happy to help.

Best Regards,

Manuel Gil.

Respectfully, that would have been a primary question for the outfitter prior to booking.
They deal with these issues and problems every day, and have real time knowledge.
Best of luck on your upcoming adventure.

Oh trust me - we had a long talk about it. They assured me that the people who did this last year are in jail and everything will be fine. I just wanted to hear from somebody that didn't have a few thousand dollars to gain by my decision.

Based on my experience, still waiting for trophies from 2023, with a different outfitter, I honestly wouldn't be eager to book an Argentina hunt with any outfitter for a while. Every outfitter now provides the similar update, oh everything will be fine soon.....

Good luck....

I hunted Argentina in April 2024. Alfredo Perez Co handled the trophies. I am expecting my crate this week sometime. Pick up at BWI.

They have to downplay the issues and spread sunshine...their livelihood is dependant on it.
Can you imagine being a Mexican Outfitter now?
Best

Has there been any updates on what is going on, i am in the same boat as Captain W.

Hunted with Catena Safaris in March 2023. Took a red stag, blackbuck, and a feral goat. Great experience hunting. No trophies received at over 2 years now....and no updates from the outfitter so far in 2025....

My trophies are now in the states. Waiting at @gizmo (Top of Texas Taxidermy)
All in proper condition. Seems no issues once they shipped. Hunted in May of 2024. I know it's hard to wait, but maybe this means yours will move soon.

Hello guys,

Hope this message finds you well.

The last notice we had was that some weeks ago they gave back to Federico one of he's warehouses but with almost no trophies in it.

We are still waiting for the restitution of it´s main warehouse and trophies.

Best Regards,

Manuel Gil.

Thank you, Manuel Gil for the update.

I just checked with my WTA hunt consultant on our trophies from Argentina this March. He was told last week (by Argentina outfitter) that there are over 3000 trophies caught in the backlog of paperwork resulting from this situation. Big knot to untangle. No shipping dates yet.

Yes, I hunted Argentina in March with a different outfitter. Great experience all around...UNTIL it was time to ship them. My outfitter delivered the trophies to a expeditor that has nothing to do with the scandal, but they are saying the government approvals to ship trophies are very slow. I assume this is due to backlog from the situation discussed at length in this thread.

I feel confident that my trophies are safe and secure and just resigned to the idea that I may not get them for a while....maybe a long while. I am just looking at it as a delay before I have to pay for the importation and mounting of my trophies which is OK since I have a black bear from Canada and several african animals and two New Zeeland deer to deal with right now LOL :)

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
