Hey guys,
So 100% daydreaming here - won’t happen until the house is paid off in a decade or so and who knows what the world will be like then.. just gunna post it because I live in fantasy 90% of the time lol.

K! Forest buffalo? Forest elephant? Where? Who? Price lists? Who’s done it? Any hunt reports I can read?

Cheers for endulging me,
Troy.

Christophe or Francois Guillet, I would say 100% no chance that west Africa will be a viable destination in ten years. CAR, Burkina Faso, Benin and most likely Cameroon are most likely made unsafe in recent years. You can always hope and dream but I would be booking in 2020 while you can still find someone to take you there.

CAR is gone. Burkina Faso is gone. Only Benin and Cameroon are hunted now. I leave later his month for Cameroon and will post a report. If the US and Europe don’t help Africa stop ISIS West Africa will not be available to hunt in 10 years.

Good luck Phillip and be safe, I have heard Jean Luc and Christophe have suspended operations in Benin, may be rumor but been told by a few. I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying for West Africa, I should have done a LDE hunt several years back. They are hunting in the Congo( Jean Luc and Christophe) and Francois posted something about a Forest Buff on FB.

Who are you hunting with @Philip Glass ?

Please, post a thread when you go! Good luck and have fun!

I agree the way things are going.

I came to cross this bull last week in the Congo. It’s still running.

Better contact Jean-Luc Damy and Christophe Morio, Congo is safe and they will find you your true forest buff.

It has been years since I hunted Cameroon with them but Mayo Oldiri was excellent.

Nice, but how far these areas are open to foreign hunters is another question.

For years I have been trying to find an opportunity to hunt forest buffalo separate from a bongo hunt. I am not interested in the latter game species.

A french company tried to organize such a hunt for me somewhere in the southwest of Congo for this year, in an area of forest bordering savanna, also in all probability not far from the Gabon border. The area was but mainly reserved for resident hunters.

Unfortunately, all of this failed because of various approvals, permits, and maybe a few other things as well.

Hunting alone with a local (I am partially resident in this country), I figured the use of a drone could come handy to recover a wounded buffalo [emoji233] in the tall grass.
I left the drone vertical of the hidden buffalo once I found it, and pressed the record button. I then gave the remote to my tracker and asked him to stay behind. The drone filmed the final approach autonomously.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!
