Can’t ship to a FFL unless you are a FFL???

Sold a rifle

Went to UPS to ship it to the FFL which was in fact the buyer

UPS said “no can-do”

Said that as of the end of August only FFL’s can ship rifles?????

Is this a UPS thing or is this a ATF thing???

I am blown away as I have shipped dozens of rifles legally in the past. Always just me to the FFL

So apparently now I have to go to some FFL who is going to charge me a fee to ship the rifle on top of the shipping???

It is my understanding that UPS caved to political pressure, but that no new law or regulation mandated the change. Hopefully someone else will correct if they have more details.

Saw the the other night on Tucker that MasterCard and visa are now going to track any gun purchase using their cards as well as ammo

Because they were directed to by the Biden administration. It’s amazing how Biden can make laws now without Congress

Not sure how that’s gonna work exactly if I buy something from Midway that includes a scope, some hunting clothes, and a box of ammo. Not sure how they’re going to know I bought ammo?

Or what the point is …if I buy a gun from a licensed dealer who is already recording all the information. And it’s not like I’m going to use a credit card on a private sale so I really don’t get what the point is

Can you ship a gun through the post office?

Yes, but for long guns only (not a handgun).
Have a copy of the dealers license you are shipping to.

They are supposedly creating a new category for guns. My understanding is it already categorized purchases-i.e. grocery, fuel, airline, etc.
Now they are going to add a category for gun and ammo purchases. Supposedly just for tracking data. Of course the next step- especially with the ESG scores being pushed- will be denying transactions they don't like. Your card will just decline Gun purchases, or Fossil Fuel purchases.

Find an instance where a gun was shipped from a private party to a FFL and there was a crime committed! I’ll wait a long time for someone to find one. Now UPS employee theft is another story completely, that will happen regardless of who sends what.

Thats new about UPS, but Fedex has technically been that way for a bit. However if you ship with them and do it online and have the label sent to you via email or direct print, there is no way for them to know since they dont ask what you are shipping. There would be some risk involved should something happen to that firearm in transit however.
USPS is good for long guns and normally not required to show an FFL for either end, handguns as noted must be from an FFL if using PO.

I looked at those guys and it didnt work for me at all, dont quite remember why but it didnt.

I think it had to do with my FFL not being on their list and the fact that you have to take your rifle to a UPS customer center for shipping and for me thats a real PITA due to their location and goofy hours.
Easier for me to go to the PO and ship my long guns and have my dealer ship handguns for me.
Ship My Gun didnt simplify the process at all for me.

You can say that about UPS theft. I won’t mention how many long guns and handguns that we have ordered and never show up at shop. Don’t get me started about the ammo either!!
