Scope for .375

Bob,
If you can make it to DSC most of the scope manufactures are there and you can make good comparisons. They normally have good deals as well. If you can't make DSC the Atlanta show may have the scope manufactures there. Someone here may be able to answer that on this thread for you.

A scope that hasn't been mentioned that you may want to look at is Vortex. All the best.

Oh I'll be there Even the devil couldn't keep me away from all my good Friends at DSC hope to see you all at dinner Friday. Funny you should mention Vortex I was just looking at them. Spooky

Leupold is building the new Redfields. I have a 2x7 on a 300 short mag that I like real well. I put a 2x3 weaver on my 375.

Iwaters I hadn't even thought of weaver. I have a Weaver target scope on my 300WM I love that thing had it on that rifle now for 9 years no issues 1 more I need to look at. Thanks

I have a leupold 2x7 euro (30mm tube) on my 375, shot +300 rds and no issues, its a great scope and is good at low light and is reasonably priced.

I mentioned Having a Vortex I have it Mounted on my 6.5 Swede,,,I,ll tell you the Vortex is image is Brighter than My Leupold,,I even think the Nikon may be a Shade Brighter,,but I,ll have to wait and try them all at the same time,,as far as the 2 old Phoenix Built Redfields,,Tough as Nails,,Love the old style Gloss Bluing I have one mounted on my M1A which has Knocked the snot out of my Simmons and My Bushnell

Zeiss sent a new one back on the first. The second has been with them for about 6 weeks now and have not heard back, going to be calling them this week.

I can't complain about their customer service. The first went down just before leaving for my first African trip, they got that one back to me very quickly. Good customer service or not, having a scope go down while on the trip is a bad thing.
Somehow I missed this! Thanks Phil!

Now you went and done it Bob! Sandy read this thread and now she wants to know when I'm buying her a .375 H&H. Thanks alot buddy!!!....lol

Go with a Leupold or Nikon. Before you go with a 1.5 x 5 or other low power, are you ever going to want to use this set up on old Mr. Spots? If so, go with a little higher power with a larger objective to gather more light. You'll need it. Just a thought......

Bob,
I recently purchased a Leupold 1.25X4 VXR with the Illuminated reticle for my 375. I have a few other scopes (Nikon, Redfield-new style, Buris) but I always come back to the Leupold. Great scope, great customer service decent price point. Little higher than some mentioned above, but in my opinion, worth it.

Thanks Wes Mr Spots is on the list for this rifle, even thou my 300 WM would have been plenty nothing like taking it with a classic caliber like the 375 H&H. Leupold and Nikon are two that I'm looking at real hard what would you think would be a good power for Mr Spots? and keeping in mind that I may use the same scope for shots on other game out to 300 yrds rather then packing two scopes.

Hey Wes let Sandy know that I found one for you to buy her a Elaborate Engraved and Gold Inlaid "2 Tigers" 1962 India Commemorative Pre-64 Winchester Model 70

Then you will always know you've got a Tiger by the tail.

Leupold 1.5X5

+1 for the 1.5x5

Any of the VX-III's would work great I personally wouldn't go bigger the a 2x7 myself. Good luck bobby, and if you have open sites on the new Remmie I would also recommend the Warne QD rings, just so you could utilize the sites if need be.

You're preference really. I have a old 2x7 Leupold on my .338 that I am confident even out to 500yds even with just 7 power. Leupold replaced it with a 2 x 8 Vari-X III (I believe). The main thing is the objective being large enough to gather light for that leopard. Note, if you are hunting Mr. Spots where you can use a light after sundown, ithe objective isn't quite as critical.

Bob,
Check your local Wal-Mart . The one here is closing out Nikon scopes. They have a 2X7 on sale for $139.00 . That's a really good price on that scope. I'm trying to work a deal with the Mgr. to buy all he has at a better price. At that price you could buy 2 and carry a back-up scope.

Thanks at that price I'm on my way to Wally World. :D
