US Federal Judge Strikes Down Masks on Planes and Public Tansit

One of my buddies was traveling back from SA yesterday and in the middle of the flight, they announced the end of the mandate. It makes me think I need to scrape some money together and head back to Africa. I would go back regardless of the masks, but this definitely sweetens the deal now.
What airline? Info?

It kinda does, until you see the cost of the airfare?
Yes it’s high but I predict the sales of airline tickets will boom. This summer will shatter all air travel records for the US. We were already doing good and now the rush to travel is on!
All the talking heads who have said we will have fewer people flying if we end the mask mandate will be proven to be the idiots They are.

We flew in from Colombia last night, connecting through Miami to Dallas on AA. both flights they announced that masks were optional, not required. Few were using masks at MIA or DFW airports.

Safe travels

Also, we had to do the covid test 1 day prior to flight. It is 1 day prior by date, not 24 hours. We did the at home (with online proctor) eMed antigen test. If you are flying with AA, you can load all your info up on their Verifly app (to include traveling companions). You will be pre-checked so to speak and check in is smooth and easy. Even in Colombia.

Safe travels

@Mark Biggerstaff, when in Jun do you come back? I'll be heading home 12 Jun on Delta. :)

Yes, the mask mandate on public transportation has outlived any usefulness it MAY have once had months ago. Everything is/has been open almost everywhere with crowds of people in close proximity for months now. I believe the mandate for public transportation is/was an overreach "control" thing by our Federal government via the CDC with no real scientific basis to continue it going forward. I too believe the ending of the mandate will dramatically boost airline travel and not stifle it.

maybe but in the US It will take another court ruling to over turn this one. It was fairly decisive. All other countries will follow like the sheep they are.

Not sure what you mean as other countries like UK have stopped all the shit a bit ago...same with airlines...but can depend on the rules of the country you are flying to as well....

All the more reason to stay home, if like me you dont like flying, especially on crowded planes. Sounds awful!

If you have all the time in the world like many of these guys on here, take a cruise ship to Africa? There must be one that travels there? If you can avoid the pirates it should be OK. If not, maybe book a fair on a container ship? LOL

I'm not surprised at all. He laid it off on the CDC and like I said before he is the boss of the CDC, he tells them what he wants and they do it.
So they said appeal and Joe told DOJ, appeal and here we are.

I don't see how the CDC can scientifically justify the masks. For well over a year now, no Covid testing has been required for US citizens reentering our country from Mexico via ship or by land and no mask requirement. Only the passengers returning by plane were/are required to get a negative test and wear a mask. Almost no state now requires masks almost anywhere in their respective state. But still, airline passengers are required to wear masks on any flight AND get tested returning from international travel except Mexico on a cruise ship? Makes no scientific sense to me and seems cherry picking the science of preventing the spread of whatever the current virus variant is in fashion. It's nothing more than another overreach and continuing power grab by CDC who's rules have flip flopped so many times I've lost track. I guess Brandon is so used to doubling down on stupid he just can't change his path. Another nail in the coffin for the Democrats leading up to the mid terms.

I have a nephew in law named Brandon, and I do wish you guys wouldn't continually take his name in vain. You wanna bag on President PoopyPants, just do it.
Do you have a cousin named Hunter? LOL

I'm kind of surprised, because the majority of the flying public is overwhelming through with the masks. I thought it would be Brandon's "out". Silly me. If it's reversed it'll just be another nail in the Democrats' coffin for leading up to the mid terms. What was Obama's quote about Brandon? LOL
I was thinking the same thing. They, or at least a bunch of them, have got to be tone deaf and not very smart! Just keep it up and the ocean swell of November may turn into a tsunami! If so, then it would effectively neuter Brandon. We can hope…

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
