Not just planned but also quick to pounce on opportunity which is made easier by a largely willfully ignorant public. For example how they started on covid and what they evolved into. Now the same folks who said never to the vaccine because Trump was responsible for it are telling "stupid Trump voters" that they're responsible for murder if they don't get it.

Government accretes power for its own benefit. In the early stages, the power is used to steal from people. They dress it up and make it all legal like, but at the end of the day, if you've got a guy taking money or property from me against my will, even if he's wearing a badge and gun, it's still theft - and I don't give 2 sh!ts if a majority voted for it. The precise reason for the existence of rights is to protect the minority (and the individual is the smallest minority on earth) from the whims and passions of the majority.

Or else they call it "nationalization." It progresses inevitably to murder (sometimes slower, sometimes faster), because murderers are willing to use more force than pickpockets use.

It drives me crazy. I am the little guy. The missus and I are near the pinnacles of our careers for being non-management, but I can't even convince an employer of 10K+ people to spend money on software testing, and that's what I was hired to do - improve software security.

I have zero power, but because of the money I make, leftards think I'm fair game for their bullshit.

He who controls education controls the future. That is why the Democrats are trying so hard to capture it. The next civil wyar will probably be fought over education.

What does our desired destination look like and what do we need to do to get there? should be the question that is being asked. However I see no one in current political power proposing anything that is either desirable or sustainable. There have been opportunities but they have been wasted- much the pity. Historians will not be kind.

That depends a lot on outcome of this culture war. If sanity prevails, you are right. But we have had our run at sanity, and it would appear we're devolving back to a more regressive, primitive state.

Tragically, this is a global issue.

Yes liberals and liberalism is global, and they are ironically right on track for their destination of anarchy because they have no compass let alone moral compass. But I really think they will remain a minor fringe group out in the world at large. The USA looks to be a special case because they have managed to hijack the large and organised Democrat party with idiot Joe giving them legitimacy and wind. This is temporary, the majority of the Dems are realising they have been had and wan't some 'normality' - look at the polls. The radical liberals will probably be forced to start their own party as the Dems realise their mistake and dump them.

I seem to remember people saying they were voting Biden rather than Trump because they wanted a "return to normalcy". Biden is and has always been a buffoon. 80 million (supposedly) voters picked the buffoon. Anyone who paid any attention knew what they were getting.

Yeah and the return to normalcy was the softball interviews of the days of Obie and newscasters making a fuss over each others kids. Unlike when Trump was in office and they hyper analyzed, assumed, lied about, sensationalized, etc. every little thing he did. The tragic part is that there are so many people lacking in so many critical thinking skills that they just take the MSM at their word and hate someone for absolutely reason. Just ask an anti-Trumper what makes him a racist and wait for the BS they've gobbled up to come spewing out. Hell, most of them still believe in the Russia thing.

The MSM were masters at manufacturing fake outrage to get people riled up. But it is not difficult when the intelligence is so low. It's equivalent to a major league pitcher striking out a 5 year old tee-ball player. On the other hand I firmly believe that some people are just willing to vote for anybody as long as they are told that everything is hunky dory.

Complacency is the normalcy they strive for.
