All,
In my first post on these forums awhile back I said I was exploring a first Africa safari for myself and a group of friends and asked whether it made sense to go somewhere more exotic like Tanzania for a first safari largely focused on plainsgame. I appreciate the responses and private messages.

I spoke with the group further (4-6 guys) and we all want to hunt plainsgame, I think everyone is interested in hunting a Buffalo if we are going to make the trip and one guy has a crocodile at the top of his list.

We are in on Tanzania as the spot to experience “wild” Africa, to have the opportunity on plainsgame, buffalo and crocs, and to get it all with nice accommodations, food etc.

I have spoken with a few outfitters in Tanzania but would like additional recommendations if you have any. Also open to suggestions from people who think Mozambique, Zimbabwe, etc might be better for us.

pleade feel free to private message me if you prefer

Regards,

Jeff

I’d give serious consideration to the Save for PG and buffalo. I would talk to the Duckworths or Whittalls.

During the past fifty years i have hunted all over Tanzania many times with several different concession holders and never had a bad one. Indeed several of my PHs have past on to a happy hunting ground. Must confess six hunters in one Tanzania tented camp seems a bit crowded to me. I guess I am sort of a loner in hunting kampi and love to hear the night sounds of wildlife. A couple of family members to put up with my snoring is fine. What ever you decide you will love wild Tanzania.

In Zimbabwe either Save or Nuanetsi areas are great for PG along with Buffalo hunt. Not to mention a lot less expensive if that matters.

These are straight up fact's, while Tanzania should be on everyone's radar, Zim may be a much better location for a first trip, the variety of game in the Save is simply amazing

Check out Motsomi Safaris- Pieter Potgeiter. He has Ultimate Tanzania Safaris. I have hunted with him twice in SA Very Professional and well run operator.

In case you missed it here is my report on hunting Tanzania for plains game.
KNS gave Mike and I a great hunt. They have something like 12 concessions in Tanzania so they have you covered for hunting anything that you want.

Hi Jeff, Game Trackers Africa has various hunting safari concessions in Tanzania and operates there for more than 20 years. Please feel free to contact us for more information, available options etc.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.
