I have a vintage double in the caliber but these seems to be few and far between..?

It is essentialy a .450 NE necked up to take a 480 grain .483 bullet..

This sounds like quite the interesting round. As stupid as it sounds, I care for aesthetics and history in big bore rounds, and this seems to have both. I would be interested to hear more about how its ballistics compare to the .450 3.25" NE and 470 NE, particularly with regard to penetration. I assume you can use .450 3.25" NE brass.

@Pondoro I have been thinking about this cartridge since reading this post. Have you ever seen or considered using the .474 bullets instead of the .483 in this cartridge? It would probably require a rebarreling but bullets would be so much easier to find.

No..as long as Woodleigh make the .483´s why bother..? I have stocked up bullets for a lifetime..

Hey Odinsraven. Is that post from Jefferry 404 legitimate? I don't know him. Thanks!

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
