I have no idea, if it is usefull for hunting in Africa, but it was love at first sight.... and I couldn't resist.

Blaser K77 break open single shot rifle in .308 Winchester, 25,6" barrel, discreet engraving, some stock cutting and "scaly fish skin", trapdoor magazine for 3 rounds.

Zeiss 5-15x42 Diavari Plex on pivot mount.

As a first attempt, I loaded a box of Barnes TTSX.

Congrats on the new addition!

Congratulations on a fine rifle! I have one on my bucket list.
I have a close friend who got a K3 in 6.5x57R and was astounded by it's accuracy with factory rounds. He said that he's worked for months on various bolt actions glass bedding and working on handloads trying to get that kind of accuracy. He has taken several deer with it.

Wow, beautiful rifle. Congrats!!!

Very nice. I have similar fish scale on one rifle and really like it. I'd certainly use it for most of the plains game if I owned it. Good luck and good hunting.

@HWL
Don't be put off by a single shot, it's the first shot that counts.
My son took a 308 to Namibia and everything he shot fell down using 150grain accubonds including Burchells zebra and Oryx.

I seriously think about to do so....

I tried this rifle in the Austrian mountains for a week, and it is really easy to carry.

I've alway been enamored with Kipplauf rifles.
You have a beautiful one there in a great stalking caliber.
How does it like the Barnes TTSX?

Oh I have rifle envy! Very handsome piece!

I zeroed the rifle and had a 3 shot group of an Inch+/100m.

May be I was lucky, but I will try it again.

Some say, rifles like this can do even better.

@HWL that is one nice rifle. If it shoot right and you like it there is no reason not to use it in Africa. After all any idiot can carry a heavy rifle around, but why do it when you have a stunning rifle like yours

My lightweight rifle!

Custom Austrian Mauser in 7x64 with S&B 6x42 scope.

Not as light as a “Kipplauf“ rifle but slim and trim and a pleasure to carry in the bushveld!

The weight of the "Kipplauf" is 3,63 kg/ 8,0 lbs, with scope, sling and loaded with 1+3 cartridges.

Damned Corona......I am long to the bushfeld.....hope to see it in spring!

Hi HWL

My rifle weighs in at just under 3,95 kg or 8.7 lbs fully loaded as shown in the photo. It’s a pleasure to hunt with and easy to carry. The 7x64 with 170 GR Sako Hammerheads is strong medicine in the bushveld where I like to use it.

Hope you get to the bush sooner than later!

Light rifles first blood.....

It's not Africa but Austria.... Gamsbock class 1, 234 meters. .308 Win, 110 gr Barnes TTSX.
