Many that read this do not believe in evolution at all. I for one do not believe that humans evolved much. They have not been on earth that long. I have been here less time than humans but I have evolved more than any other tool the human ever used or invented.

Look at fire. Fire has been on earth longer than humans and it has evolved less. It started with a piece of wood that became so warm it surpassed its combustion temperature and burst into flame. Today the same flame springs from gas or fluid and not only wood.

The only thing that has not evolved or changed about me in thousands of years is my mission. I still look the same and I still do the same thing over and over again but my composition now is non-recognizable compared to even one hundred years ago.

I started of being about 8-9 feet long, a little thicker than a broomstick and made of any straight piece of wood or bamboo. I was used to ventilate flesh. Be it in battle or to supply meat for man. My mission still is just that, even today. I was flung from hands that needed me to fly in order to accomplish my mission.

Many centuries later I became smaller and slimmer. I married up with my lifelong partner and by working together as a team I flew further and faster than ever dreamed of. I was created with love and devotion. Some saw me only as a tool to be used as the drums of war sounded or when the hunger pains drove them but there were others, few others that saw me as a work of art. Something to be held close at hand at all times, even during sleep. Those few touched me as lovers do. They looked at me with affection and cared for me.

I became even shorter and thinner as evolution took its time to transform me. In these changes I became better at my job. So much so that my need to perform became an ongoing quest by those that used me. I started to change again. Wood was no longer my back bone. Wood made way for metal and carbon. I became sleek and an object of beauty. I no longer went on a mission hoping to do my best.
Every time that I am called upon now, I know that I can conquer any resistance and obstacle in my way.

In order for me to function and to be totally me, I need a keen eye to guide me. I need a steady hand to jump from and I need a mind that is totally focused on sending me to fulfill my mission. I work as part of a team with only one goal and that is for me to fly and hit a spot at a given distance and then to carry on and find the hidden target that is protected by flesh and bone. I need my partner to launch me on my mission. He needs the hand to guide him and keep him steady so that he can give onto me all his power that is stored in him.

I used to consist of only a single wood construction. I was sharpened at one end and flung from the hand hoping that I could find my way to the intended target. Later as evolution took its toll on me, I was hardened in fire and a sharpened bone or flint was now leading my flight. As I became shorter and slimmer and I got married off to my partner, I was decorated with feathers as a tail. This kept me true in my flight.

My partner became stronger as his single string launched me from the hand. My decorating feathers were attached offset so that I could spin in the air and defeat gravity and wind who were my constant enemy. As I overcome them I was met with a new foe. The speed at which I flew was too much for the bone or flint that had to cut and crush in order for me to penetrate the hidden target. They also evolved to become steel.

With this new evolutionary part of me, I could fly on my mission and smash and cut my way right through the target and sometimes carry on past it. I love to fly. That is the way evolution works. Thousands of years ago I flew only a short distance and the love of flying drove me to what I am today. I can only achieve and accomplish my mission when I fly.

There is a dream that I had for a while now. In the beginning I did not even know that it was there but through evolution I am getting closer to my dream. I am still a long way from reaching it but I have time on my side. I am immortal. I can wait for time and evolution to change me and prepare me for the day when my dream become reality.
My dream is??..the sound barrier.

Sorry to disappoint you Spike but those who know me will tell you that the most alcohol that I have ever had in me was way back and it was only about 200ml of Castle beer.

Many people say that that is the reason why I am different because I dont drink enough.

Don't worry Fritz...most of us drink to make other people more interesting!! But in your case we'll make an exception...you're interesting enough already!

fritz normally i am a bit wary of people who dont partake in the consumption of some variety of alcohol , but i have to agree with ole bally on this one . you surely do come out with some interesting stuff. maybe you classify as just a touch eccentric , which is a great thing to be . :biggrin2:

I smokes. I eats. I shoots. I swears. I thinks to much but I am still to young to drinks. :kt:
