Life After The Indian Hunting Ban

I strongly feel that we should continue with the ban on hunting within our protected forests .
But should start trophy hunting in the villages around our reserves . These are the places where there is maximum Human Wildlife conflict . And if we can involve to local communities . We can do wonders with our conservation efforts.
India is blessed with fantastic biodiversity . Tiger, Asiatic lion , leopard , snow leopard ,flowers leopard . We have them all.
We also have the one horned Rhino, the Asian elephant , the Gaur, the water buffalo and some beautiful antelopes and deer species

I agree wholeheartedly. Nilgai are also causing crop damage in areas

Import of rifles and guns in India is restricted but not banned
If a shooter can score above the minimum qualified score set for different categories . Starting from Air rifles to Big bore
He can legally import guns and rifles into the country without paying custom duty .
That is the reason Indian shooters do reasonably well international

Sorry friend .
I will take your leave . It's midnight in India and I have work tomorrow morning.
Like I said
I have a number of things to clarify here .
Will continue tomorrow
Good night

And Rehman Sir
Neelgai literally means Blue Cow
Isn't it surprising that a Hindu govt has allowed it's culling
As per your post . This would never have been possible in a country which implements beef ban

Nigail means blue bull. It’s culling is allowed in Kuch Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. And l also know that countless people are attempting to ban their culling even now.

I had read this in the newspaper here, in an smal town in Germany.

New Imported fire arms in India can be had , if and only if
A) the civilian has attained the status of a , “renowned shooter “ . .This means that the renowned shooter must achieve the minimum qualifying score at the National Shooting Championship Competition ( NSCC ) . This renowned shooter may only import one fire arm for the particular discipline discipline in which they have achieved renowned shot status. They may also apply for permission of direct import of up to 15000 cartridges for that one fire arm.
Given what the minimum qualifying score for each of these imported fire arms is , it can safely be said that people who own an imported fire arm are the exception and not the rule in India .
B) The civilian has a transfer of residence certificate . What this essentially means is that the citizen lived in a foreign country ( for instance , the United States of America ) and and owned a fire arm there ( for instance , a model 70 rifle from Winchester in magnum .375 bore ) , then by using a transfer of residence certificate , if they return to India , they can bring that single fire arm back to India.
What this means is that : for an Indian civilian who did not live in a foreign country and bring back a fire arm from that country , the chances of obtaining an imported fire arm is nigh unlikely.
There is one more method . Suppose the fire arm had been imported into India prior to 1986 and a civilian finds it second hand in a shop , then they may buy it. However , l can say with 100 % certainty that given the advanced age of these fire arms and the fact that they could be potentially abused by their previous owners ( and they often are. Just yesterday , l have seen numerous old imported shot-guns at a gun shop in India , which have bulged barrels and cracked stocks ) , makes them quite risky to use , unless you are very lucky .

And this article should give people a very clear idea on what people who eat beef have to endure there. Granted , this is a more extreme example , but occurrences like this are far from uncommon .
Hindus do not do this. SOME radical Hindus do .
Again , this is not a religious argument. I have nothing but respect for Hindus and people of every single religious belief . Anyone who has read my posts regularly will know that. I have repeatedly spoken out against radical Islam myself .
I have countless friends from all religions and my commanding officer during the liberation war of 1971 was also a Hindu and one of the greatest men l ever had the pleasure of meeting .

Regarding .32 bore pistols and revolvers being imported into Bangladesh , they have been getting imported since after 1971.
The .3006 is not yet imported , but will be .

I have read that also.
In the internet. E.g. on the side of IAF (Or??)
Why this caliber?
The .30-06 Spr.

Why not the german top calibers like 7 x 57 (aka .275 rigby) or 9,3 x 62 (aka mauser)??
:)
I think I must write an letter to the government.

Please do.
On a serious note , many members of BSF ( Bangladesh Shooting Federation ) have voiced a taste for the .3006 calibre for a long time .
I am generally indifferent as l think that all the calibres discussed :
.3006 , 7 millimeter mauser , 9.3 millimeter Mauser ,
are very impressive calibres .
But then , at my age , l have come to appreciate most fire arms after a life time .

:LOL::LOL:

Serious:
What was the reason for the .30-06?
And not "other calibers"?
(Maybe: It is the most popluar amo in the USA. But (!!): It was also - and still is - an army amo, the USA used that caliber in some wars, then and now.)

The .3006 is an extremely popular calibre and l believe that it was it's popularity that made it so well desired .
I did not know that the United States of America had any of it's forces still using any .3006 calibre armaments , however hopefully a gentleman with more knowledge than l can answer this . And l suspect that given how many of our respected forum members have military backgrounds , they can easily answer this.

Not the regulary troops, they had the 5,56 aka .223.
But some SF.
(I had seen it with my own eyes.)

Oh. As long as regular troops do not use it , l doubt BSF would classify it as a prohibited bore ( fortunately ) . Somewhere in the world , l am certain that every calibre in the world has at least been used by some military force at some point in time.
Take for instance the Martini Henry rifle . Some Muslim extremist Taliban forces in the Middle East , still have them .

That’s why I feel l it’s better. There are more options of bullet weight and styles. Enough case space to push the 200s and 220 grain bullets if their needed. The 300 win mag is nice for a little extra point blank range.
