Again, I appreciate everyone's response that have shed light on Similar posts regarding Ballistics, the calculator, and overall science behind Recoil! … I was explained the difference in why there's such a Price Discrepancy with 458 Lott Ammunition Manufactures. Hornady's, Double Tap, at a reasonable price opposed to Federal's or Nosler's at "Double the Cost"

I've owned a 458 Lott since 2003, along with other DG calibers of a lesser extent. But I've never really considered what a raucous this round is, until cont. researching, ballistics, efficacy, etc. It may have been undermined before purchase, the literature when Hornady Teamed with Ruger for the M77 MkII. As an essential wildcat, Hornady's 20 rnd's were extremely inexpensive, to the perceived buyer, at the time.

I've spent years practicing with the MkII and Hornady's 500 grn Solids, others softpoints for accuracy, and a managed degree of comfort in Recoil, if you could call it that, … however, I'd like to Upgrade to a different Round before I purchase. … As I Understand Powder Charge is relevant … "Has anyone experienced or suggest 458 Lotts most sever Round in noticeable Recoil" ??? ie, Federal's Cape Shock, etc. Curios if I'm splitting hairs or there are noticeable differences to cont. practice zeroing in?

Tanks!!!

Is this discount the sale price on the Nosler website? I saw some sale prices but didn’t know about the additional discount. Have you seen any other discounts like they are discontinuing/revamping the Safari line?

I couldn't figure it out, as upon "Checkout" my total was 1/2 off the 1/2 off. I'll CALL THEM. But their in the mail. … The MSRP was cut in half on their site … and the "October Sale" stated all Safari ammo is an addl. 50% Upon Checkout.

I had to look back before paying, as I saw the Total!? …

As for recoil in the .458 lott. You are are not going to feel any difference in factory ammo shooting a 500 grain bullet. If available or if you handload a smaller bullet size at less velocity, maybe. The .458 lott kicks any way you slice it. I love it but I am also married so used to being kicked. o_O

Thank you for the heads up on nosler ammo being yes $49.95 a box of safari ammo, partition or solids. I picked up four boxes if for nothing else practice and the brass.

Well, Your Fortunate if, Kicked around here & there is the worse, domestically speaking. Firearms are Safer , … they wont take away your home Home, Pension & or Child Custody issues :)

Called "Nosler" ... She said They are changing their Packing? … And they will Continue To Create all The Current Safari Production Ammunition. "The Solids are Gone"! I did Stock up on the Partitions.

However, if Anyone is Interested in $49 for 10 ct. 500 NE … 505 … 500 Jefferey … 47o Nitro!!! etc,
or to the contrary 375 h&h your 416's! … Lord!

Once you get a 500 grain bullet going between 2200-2300 fps, I doubt you could tell much recoil difference between loads. And the buffalo will definitely not tell the difference.
i agree the recoil is stout i started out with 79grains of ar2208 (like varget) in mine and stepped up to 81grains... cant tell the difference both really hit hard, more so then factory 458winmag

Idk if anyone was still looking … "Nosler sent a Black Friday Sale" via email. $49.00 again

Keep an eye on them … "Theres 4 Boxes of Solids/Partions here" … $800 dollars worth of munition for $100 bucks. That's unheard of!!!

I've gotten a couple emails, since the first purchase … Nosler "Black Friday" sale showed, briefed it & was shocked they did the 49.00 dollar deal again!!!

If I see another email, you'll be 1st to know. When I had talked to them the 1st time regarding the price, she stated they are Reworking their Packaging on their Ammunition.

No sir. … When I received the email stating their Black Friday sale, I didn't pay much attn at first. I did eventually open it & "Half off on all Safari" got my attn, went to the site & was shocked they offered 1/2 off of the 1/2 off again!!! … so? Their just worth checking up on from time. … That was the last email I received from them on "Black Friday"
