There was a thread a while back on a member that was going to Harloo Safaris this year.

The family hunt there came off Easter weekend, the pic is a first timer.

Easter Braai!
Congratulations on a successful hunt.

Congrats on a good hunt at less she had on a camo hat she blends in good with the red dirt.

Saeng, that would be my family and I that will be going to Harloo. Seventy two more days, but who's counting. That is a fine looking warty for the lucky new hunter. Congratulations to her.

The folks at Harloo are a good bunch. My wife and I really enjoyed our time there. Congratulations to the young huntress!

My wife & I just got back from Harloo 3 days ago. It was our third South African safari. Everything was first class. They have some very good Nyala & Buff. All the staff are great. I think anyone going there will love it.

Jeff, please post some photos and a report of your hunt with Harloo Safaris. My family and I still have six weeks till we leave and I need a fix.
Randy

I crossed paths with you. Just back went by Harloo twice on other errands. Did shoot a buff outside of Empangeni, story to follow. Booked back at Harloo in late Aug. according to my firends.

Here are some photos. The Nyala and Wildebeest were the only animals i was after this trip. I did not throw a tape on them, but i thought they were both pretty good.

Congratulations are in order.
Nice trophies from the slopes north of Pongolapoort dam!

Very, very nice. Salute.

Thanks. Randy you picked a great place to go. You will enjoy every minute of it. While I was there they had 1 more hunter that took a leopard and a buff. Ask them about him for sure. He was a true inspiration. But I'll let them tell you the story. He is my new hero.

They look like some good ones to me. That BW has a nice spread. Congrats!

Good pics all.....glad to hear they are still doing well with clients.

I hunted there back in late 2007.....hope you have as good of time as I did. Seems like an eternity that I haven't been able to get back there.

Brian the resident PH/property manager had a pretty good track record for bush pig at the time.

It makes for some killer long days, and not much down time to hang by the fire, as he hunts them at night over bait (light on a battery hooked up). But it makes for a unique trophy. And Harloo offers a very good price.

If I did it again I would get ahold of Edmound and tell him to get started on baiting before I came. Brian was in that routine for a previous hunter and we had pigs in the light 3 out of 5 sits. I messed up a bit and didn't pull the trigger on night one, couldn't see the crosshairs in the dim light. Changed scopes for after that to a heavier reticle. A illuminated would have been killer.

We hunted PG all day and sat for pigs after dinner til' 11 or 12 each night; but we scored the last night about 11:30. After pics and such; left me with 3 hrs for sleep and packing before leaving for Jo'berg at 3:30 am for a flight to Namibia.

Fond memories.

Dinsdale, I have a bushpig on my hunt menu. After all they're so cute. Edmond advertised the bushpig as the poor man's leopard hunt. Thanks for the suggestion of having them pre-bait before my arrival.
Who needs rest while hunting, I'll do that after the hunt.

Good attitude.:thumb:

If you connected early, you could relax a bit more for the rest of the hunt.

I slept on the plane home a few weeks later.

I shot some decent animals during my stay there; but that bushpig is still my favorite.
