Bison Meat Hunt

If I wasn't already going on a spring bear hunt, I have a 50/90 rolling block that would be just the ticket.
That would be way cool! If you ever decide to do it give me a shout. We’ll have a blast!

Will do my truck knows how to get to Texas :A Camping:

Not really sure why you find it necessary to be a self proclaimed expert on how I conduct my hunts on one of my hunt offers.
I will agree to an extent with some of what you have said but I can assure you that my ranch is anything but a “pasture”. Yes those picks were taken in a wheat field but that does not mean that’s where they always are. Considering you have never been to my ranch or hunted with me it may be prudent to keep one’s opinion to themself on certain aspects of how I do things.
Furthermore, at no point have I or anyone else tried to represent this as anything other than what it is advertised as.
It’s generally common courtesy to be a bit more reserved when you want to chime in on someone’s hunt offer.
the jerk is a WET blanket Erik, any body who knows you understands the type of hunt going on and will have a ball.

bison meat much better than bear, though i have to admit bear seems to expand as you chew so you might say you get more for your money with bear, not really.

If you only ended up with 500 lbs of ground meat, you’d likely be coming out ahead on this hunt..

$4100 for the hunt... assume another $500-$700 for someone to process that huge sucker... and you’re still under $5k

Bison is $10.69 a pound at my local Costco.. and about $13 a pound T my local grocer... and that’s just ground...

Get 500 lbs off a meat hunt bison.. even if you ground the whole thing you’d be saving money (assuming you’d eat that much bison over a couple of years... I certainly would)... if you actually kept the choice cuts as steaks, medallions, roasts, etc you’d be doing even better..

You’re basically getting the experience of the hunt for free..

This looks like a great deal to me to any prospective bison hunters..

And if you do it at the right time of year, you might get a pretty cool rug out of the deal too

Haha Haha you don't have 2 teenage boys that will eat you out of house and home!!! We have gone through about 700#s on Nalgai and deer in about a year. I agree with you much better than store bought beef!

Hey there! Awesome deal, but I have a quick question. What calibers would you recommend for something like this? Should an 8mm mauser work, or 300 H&H or does it need to go up to 375 H&H or higher? Also, out of curiosity , what would a trophy bull run, as a rough estimate. Thanks for your input!

This would be a classic if one had a Sharps 45-70, 45-90 or similar. Your terrain is perfect for an old fashioned hands and knee stalk. What fun!

Hmmm...your front loader tractor would work well too hauling her to the butcher shed...very “un-Classic”:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::LOL:!
Need to borrow mine? I’m
A trusting fellow and I want to see it used. It’s an actual Shiloh Sharps, I went to Montana to pick out stuff on it.

@gizmo sent you a PM with a couple questions.

I'd argue that it be a fun experience either way, and everyone here knows exactly what this hunt entails. I also noticed you never responded to the "tipping" thread and if you're changing your position on if you've hunted Africa or not.

:E Rofl:(y)

Is that the same gun Tom Sellick used in Quigley Down Under?

I'm from overseas, which means I have to leave the meant behind. Any discount for that? Do you have riflle and or night vision equipment for hire to tag the hogs?

No matter what a bison hunt is a bison hunt. They by nature are not skittish as say a whitetail deer. I shot my buffalo in Montana many years ago and I would agree its not difficult by any means. BUT if you want the most iconic big game animal in NA this is the one. And great meat to boot! Anyone here think shooting a buffalo in Argentina is much different? Probably not. From the hunters I ve spoken with theirs not much difference. Pretty dam docile. Probably why I ve avoided shooting a sable in SA. Pretty much damn near pets. But that's a different subject.;)

Well.... the Sable are the Prince of the Plains... not the obnoxious drunken jester. Enter Wildebeest

300 H&H would be my absolute minimum. I have a plethora of big bores so not an issue if you want to use one. I just got back today from guiding a bison hunt and the client used a 45/70 to great effect. (I have a few of those you could borrow too).

Unfortunately I cannot give discount for not taking the meat as here in the states I can’t legally sell it. Basically, all of the meat would go to needy families in the area. It is very good meat and I can absolutely donate it so it will not get wasted. When the hunt is booked, you buy the whole animal from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail.
Yes I have enough firearms to outfit a moderately sized country’s arm as well as thermal, night vision, etc..... I don’t charge for rental or ammo up to 40 rounds. Additional rounds are 30$ a box for rifle ammo. On sporting clays (included with hunt) I will provide shotguns, clays, and 100 rounds of ammo for international clients and its 7$ a box after that.

Come on bro, haven’t you seen the “Three Amigos”? “Would you say I have A plethora of balloons?”

Sorry dude don't know much about The Three Amigos but I've always liked that word. Plethora, it just kind of rolls off your tongue and makes people think that you might just be a bit smarter then you look.
