New Ruger African 6.5x55 from Lipsey's

One person's misfortune is another's gold mine. Wonder why the other individual gave up on his/her Swede? Not fast enough? Too young? I do think that you have to achieved a certain maturity in order to see the beauty of calibers such as the 6.5X55 Swede and .275 Rigby (7mm Mauser). Particularly the Swede.

Hard to say. With all the stuff on offer, I emailed to make sure he didn't leave off a number...but he said no, I sent money.

Not a African but a Ruger No1 in 6.5x55

Shoots like a dream going to use it next week on a couple of unsuspecting Sringbuck.

Back to the range this morning to shoot a few more rounds and make sure she's still on before heading out on a free range Axis hunt this Tuesday. And to think I almost bought a Tikka......... This Ruger Swede is one of the best shooting guns I've ever owned.

I adjusted it down two inches and I'm good to go.

Ordered one of these last week. Looks like lipseys is out now. Rifle was too pretty to pass up... and I am a lefty!

There was an International model in 6.5X55 in stainless also in limited edition though it's only right handed as well. I didn't make it clear, it is a M 77 with mannlicher stock.

I love #1s. Have three of them 300 win mag, 375 H&H, 458 Lott. I am eyeing the 3-30 in satin stainless and walnut for my grandson who is 14 months old. Planning going on putting it in the safe until he is old enough!
2 years charlie?

Edward I just might have him hunting by then!
I too like the older number 1, but this International that I spouted off about like I knew what I was talking about is the limited edition M77 in 6.5X55 that is a stainless Mannlichers. They may still be available. To be honest, I was hard pressed to choose between the two. Since I was being kinda petty about the wood, the gun went back to Lipseys. I wonder if I'll be out of luck if they have no more to send me. Oh well, guess I'll find out.

I guess that I have been dreamin. After I said that there were 6.5X55 Swedes in a M77 with mannlicher stocks on Lipseys. That isn't correct, I have spoken out of turn and apologize to you all. There are such rifles in .260 shown. Keep your powder dry!!!

Hunting buddy and I took these two free range Axis yesterday with mine. Both one shot kills, this is really one sweet (Swede) rifle.

Sand Rat, they are a couple of great axis! My first rifle was a swedish mauser in 6.5x55, a really nice calibre.

Congrats @Sand Rat ! What a great free range axis, I'm really jealous! I want one in the wort way! Nice looking rifle also(y)

Shot mine again today, improved after free floating the barrel yesterday. Just need to find the right load combo. Last group shot was 4 in an inch at 100, using 140 Interlocks and Win 760. Didn't seem to care much for 160 RN with 7828 powder, just meh.
It looks like Sand Rat may have found the secret to consistent groups. My rifle was slow going back to Lipseys, so I decided to grab it up before there were none. I'll be starting with RL-22. My rifles always liked 46.0 grs but now I know these like 47.5 grs. Yea, every rifle is different, but these Swedes are different.
