I am sorry if you were offended...this thread has devolved into a series of off topic jokes and I kept the trend of jokes going.
 
Let's not split hairs here. He DID file for Bankruptcy and either shortly before or after that he went on a $100,000 hunting trip....either way, does that sit well with any of you?

As we discussed he can produce large amounts of copy, just not very good copy. Hemingway he is not. Although in another forum one poster said that his book Safari Rifles (the first one) was good. I take his word for it, since I have not read it, but what have read I have not been impressed it.
I enjoyed his gun columns but think his hunting books are boring as hell ..Long ways from Ruark and Capstick..
 
Eggs Benedict (Egg McMuffin with sauce). Started in New York in mid to late 1800's (according to internet, which never lies). I like 'em.

That empty plate I posted about five pages back was all that was left of my ober easy eggs, prepared in cast iron of course. None of that sissy non-stick crap.

So @enysse, after all of what's gone on, this is where your line in the sand is? Non-stick pans?

Some of us have more serious things to worry about. Like why so many people want to eat eggs named for a traitor. Or the hoary eggs in fajitas debate. Or how any shades of grey there really are and why @BRICKBURN seems to know so much about the book? Or whether CB means cold blooded or captive bred? Well, which is it?

Do you see what I'm getting at? This is a serious thread, about serious issues, and we can't have it brought down by random ravings about teflon.

I always taking things with a grain salt. I personally like Boddington's hunt stories. He was never a great deer hunter but lived out the dreams of many people in Africa hunting. And I was perfectly fine with it.

So here's the thing.

When I look at Picasso's "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon," I admire it for what I see there. I don't care that Picasso had a bunch of mistresses; he was a great painter. When I watch Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. deliver his "Promised Land" speech, I admire the oratory and the content; I don't care about his private life. When I eat in a restaurant, I eat there because of the food, not because of what the chef does in his spare time. When I hire a plumber, I'm interested in his or her plumbing skills, not their personal financial history. When I watch a movie, I don't ask myself if the director, or the editor, or the star, ever acted inappropriately with an actress, or served a date white wine when she really wanted red. When I read a book, or a magazine article, I read it for the content, not to put the author on a pedestal, or because I care about what he did yesterday, or last year, or how many times he's been married, or whether he's picked up some speeding tickets along the way.

Maybe I should ask myself all of those things, and only appreciate work done by those who have achieved a level of personal perfection which matches my own;). Life would be a whole lot less interesting if I did that though. And I'd be doing a whole lot of due diligence instead of just enjoying life. Having said that, if the fact that you're a sleeze is well known and bleeds into those areas of your life that do interest me, then yes, of course it will have an impact on my choices. Otherwise, life's too short.

@Hank2211 bring your ass to Texas and I treat you to the best fajitas and over easy eggs on the planet. There's a mom and pop Mexican restaurant in Texas City that will make a believer out of you. I get back home on May 11 and will be there for breakfast on the 12th!

Now that is one of the wonders of English cooking. Sausages baked in Yorkshire pudding! Love it - and my local pub makes a great example.
