Wild African dogs

Wild dogs are lethal killers.

You've got them in Moz, correct?

I seem to remember Tjoppa telling me about going for a jog and running into a pack. :A Banana Sad:

Yip, I think it was his 3rd morning in camp, went for a jog...straight into a pack...:A Outta::A Outta:

That's the story.

Said he ran with a rifle after that.

Neat video.

Is anyone aware of wild dogs attacking or killing humans? They seem to be either nonchalant or curious around people.

A friend was riding a 4 wheeler through an open area. He looked over and noticed a wild dog jogging 15' to his right. He looked over and saw a couple more 15" to his left. He looked behind and the pack was following him. He was nervous. He sped up to the maximum safe speed for the terrain and they easily kept up with him. He slowed down and they slowed down. He stopped and they milled around looking at him. After a few minutes they jogged away. He was pretty sure they had never seen a 4 wheeler before and were just curious.

Should be required viewing after every Disney movie.

Maybe they were trying to figure out if 4 wheeler might taste good

One of the concessions I've hunted in the past said that they shot them on sight! The farm owner carried a 223 bolt action in his truck all the time!

@CAustin , wild dog are highly protected and endangered. I wouldn't go around bloating it on social media.

Wild dogs are generally scared of humans, but I wouldn't tempt fate ever with a wild animal.

Taste like chicken..........or maybe Impala!

While on a photo safari last year in Chobe National Park, Botswana, we saw a wild dog chase and kill of an Impala. Very similar to the video here, literally tearing apart and eating the animal while it's still alive. The true wild kingdom isn't always pretty and the reality version and the Disney version are quite different.

Too true 375, just look what lions do to each other to take over a pride.

I took these pictures while having lunch at the lodge last month. Two different days, if you look closely you can see the collars and transmitters

Simon I'm sure I've already forgotten where that concession was.
