Rocket,

My favorite part of the offer is letting the youngsters hunt at no charge! What a great way to get them hooked!

Like I said yesterday, this is on my list!!!! :)

That is our idea about the youngsters.....they can be sharing the spot with their fathers enjoying to be shooting a shootgun, doing their first steps in the hunting.....they get hooked no doubt....!!!!

Thank you very much Royal......(y)

I feel bad for whomever has to clean all the birds. Is their a time of year when the dove hunting is the best?

Bsums.....ussualy the boys split the doves in bags and take them to the town and give doves to their parents and family and themselves......you can be amazed watching how fast they can take the dove breast and get them clean......!!!!

Any time is good here.....this doves are not migratory birds, they born, live, breed and die right here.....anyway in March We are bussy in the Red Stag rut, but from April untill christmas We can do it.......when more people comes is from April to October.

Thank you.....!!!!

Hi Rocket,

I will have to visit with a few friends and family to see if this is something we can do as a group setting.

I do think it would be a great time.

I will see if the Wife would be willing to take a flight down.. knowing she would like to do the shopping tourist thing..

Looks like a flight down and you are picked up .

The next day is the start of your 3 days of hunting

Then the departure day for the flight home.

Ok James.....for sure would be a great time.....there are more ways to do this and you can consider.....

Other way is ge ta flay to Buenos Aires....MG Hunting people can pick you up there....City Tour, Tango dinner and Shopping can be arranged there for one or two days, Buenos Aires is a big City and worth the time to know it....then We take you to the domestic airport for the fly to Cordoba where I will meet you.....

The arrival day is for rest and relax.....the next 3 days are hunting and the day 5 is the departure.

Would be great if We have the chance to hunt together.....!!!!!

Feel free to keep on asking for more details......!!!!

This program offer will be open during all 2015 at this price.

MG Hunting will be attending at the Houston Safari Club Convention next 23-24-25.....booth number 817.

Thank you all.

All, I have hunted with Rocket in Cordoba and this is a tremendous value. They have billions - maybe gazillions - of doves, a wonderful team, and some of the best steaks in Argentina - and always great Malbecs and dry lagers. You can easily shoot a thousand rounds a day. The fields are quite near the lodge. Highly recommend adding this to your bucket list and addressing it soonest.

Red Leg....I hope to have you here anytime you can for another great dove shooting......We really had alot of fun that time.......!!!!

I want to thank you for your kind comment.

Thank you my friend....!!!!

I've always been curious as to why it's so expensive to come shoot doves. At a rate of slightly less than $700/day, it seems a bit steep especially when that doesn't include the gun or licenses.

I'm not trying to be a jerk as I'm really curious. I've always thought that a dove shoot like this would be a riot but at the cost, it just doesn't seem that I'd be getting my money's worth when compared to, say, a South Africa hunt. And I must say that your offer with the quantity of shells included seem quite generous compared to others I've seen.

The ammunition bill can add up quickly, especially as some shoot over 5000 shells a weekend. Lots of feathers!!!!!!

Wow - you hunt cheaply in Africa. And the offer is inclusive of two-thousand rounds of ammunition. No trophy fees, no trophy export costs, and no taxidermy. But then I enjoy hunting feathers every bit as much as hunting fur. Have been to Argentina twice. Once strictly to hunt with MG Hunting and Rocket, and once with spouses on the Piranha with a side stay in Buenos Aires. Either is a fabulous experience. But as I said, I am a shotgunner as much as I am rifleman.

My opinion, which is worth not much is this:

It is all about what you want. That SA hunt is only a few shots most likely. So what does it cost you per animal in the end vs. What the dove hunt costs per dove. Due to this I actually would argue that the high volume dove shooting is a great value, especially for people that want to hunt birds. Price a bird hunt in SA and then tell me which one you think is a better value. You've got to put apples to apples together too.

For example, I would never do a high dollar fishing trip. Why? Because I'd rather hunt, just my personal preference.

This trip though, even my wife who doesn't hunt finds intriguing. She figures she can hit a few even if by accident. :)

I have hunted plains game in Africa and don't have a buff in my profile pic so maybe that's why I think that the dove hunting seems expensive as I don't have your deep pockets. Shooting birds that are considered a nuisance is the equivalent to paying to shoot hogs in TX. It's a bit tough to swallow. Either you have a problem or you don't. No reason to soak the people who want to help. I admitted that the ammo allowance was beyond what I'd seen in most offers, but still, it's doves.

I directed the question back to the original poster as I assumed that I would get biased opinions, not facts, from others.

As you say, one has to compare apples to apples. Last I checked I didn't have 10's of thousands of kudu swarming my stand. Not the same at all.

I did do a bird hunt in SA for franklin(sp?), guinea, and doves. It cost me the price of shells plus a daily rate. No limits.

There has still been no explanation why it's a better value unless you simply like hearing your shotgun roar. I still think that the shoot would be a blast but...........

Maybe you are right Rick, or not, I guess that all depends on who are looking specially on this.....obviusly this offer is aimed at those who enjoy tremendously the wing shooting and maybe is not your particular case.......could be.
I think that if you really want to catch the Safari spirit, the Safari atmosphere on big game you have to go Africa.......if you want to catch a real big black marlin you have to go to Cairns, Australia and if you want to live the most extreme dove wing shooting experience you have to come to Argentina......We all know this.
Then having say this We can do some calculations.........We put a thousand dollars in sheels on the program, so you do not have to worry for your first two thousand rounds.....in fact if you want you can do all the hunting with those shells......nobody will put any pressure on you to shoot a one more single shell over those 2000.
Off course if you want to shoot five thousand rounds in the tree days, you can do it.......or not.....that is up to you.
Then you will be paying around 250 dollars a day wich make a common sence respect the international prices.......not too expensive, not too cheap.
All depends on what are you loocking for and what is your interest in hunting matters.
I am a worker and a 50 dollars dinner for me and my wife is expensive, for that reason I do alot of barbacues in my backyard.......but I take her out once a year for the aniversary.......at least..........:)

Thank you and I hope you try some day......worth it, trust me....!!!!

Rick, like most things we enjoy, there is no calculus which will give one an accurate assessment of "best value". Thank God. That is an intuitive assessment purely made by the participant. In my case, I enjoy bird shooting a lot. I hunt ducks and geese with old friends in South Louisiana and Saskatchewan. I hunt quail in Georgia and Texas. And I really enjoy shooting pigeons in a pigeon ring. I equally like hunting whitetail and yes, buffalo. I would not begin to know how to compare the "value" of each experience. Some simply cost more than others. What I can say, and simply offered, was that Rocket runs an excellent operation with some fantastic shooting. That is based on my personal experience there - not hearsay. If that somehow constitutes a "biased" opinion, then I am guilty. And if the cost of his three-day hunt somehow offends your sensibilities of what represents value, then for God's sake please don't go. I would note that if we were not paying to shoot the doves and to create an industry in Argentina, the government would simply poison the roosts. But I don't think that is "soaking" a hunter any more than paying to shoot sustainable surplus game of any type anywhere else in the world - to include South Africa.

Finally, this is a pretty friendly forum. Being dismissive of someone because they - in your mind - "have deep pockets", is not a way to keep it that way. Yes, I have a picture of a buffalo in my profile pic. That doesn't mean I don't fully understand the value of every penny that makes up a dollar and didn't work like hell to earn them. It is one reason, I decided to comment on MG's hunting package. It is one of these offers with which a forum member has personal experience - biased or not. And it was a package which seemed to offer real "value".

Not sure why there is any argument about value here? value is in the barrel of the beholder, while I have no interest in shooting doves, as an avid duck and goose hunter I would love to experience Argentinas bird bounty. In Kyrgyzstan I met a Maltese hunter who targeted nothing but birds, internationally, and at great cost, that was his bag. Some like big game, some small, some birds, I hope my preferences are not judged by anothers standard.

I think it's great deal, most people don't include that many shells.
