What are you reading?

Almost done with Ruark's "Horn of the Hunter" and Keith's "Big Game Rifles & Sixgun Cartridges and Loads"--one volume for Keith's combined books. Ruark had quite a sense of humor, along with an appreciation for adult beverages. One understands, regrettably, how he died young of liver complications. Keith brings a plain-spoken realism I've loved since I first read an article by him in Guns & Ammo, September '67.
Chapter 14 in horn of the hunter about buffalo and Hemingway is my favorite

I am most of the way through "Home From the Hill" by Fred Webb. What an irreverent look at far North Country hunting!

Currently reading.

No Sequel to Life

Great book, great dude, great info.
In my opinion.

Bwana, There's a Body in the Bath!
by Tony Park, Peter Whitehead

Not quite finished but an interesting read. Basically an autobiography of Peter Whitehead who, among other things was a game ranger in Northern Rhodesia and ended up working animal support on some of the films of the day including Hatari.

I’m carefully reading “Hunter” by J.A. Hunter printed in 1952. I received this used book as a gift when I was in 5th grade, 1975 I believe. I’ve read it so much over the years I’ve had to tape the binding since it’s falling apart. I guess I could read it on my Kindle but something about this book, it planted the seed of one day hunting Africa.
