Ive gotten into the habit of picking up a new hunting knife whenever I do an international hunt lately.. back in April I was in New Zealand, so I thought it would be cool to add a New Zealand hunting knife from Gary (board member) to the collection.. We just returned to the US from South Africa on Sunday.. on our way out of the country we stopped by Safari Outdoors in Pretoria and I picked up a really nice blade made by PS Roodt.. the scales are giraffe bone..
Im not a great fan of the sheath.. I'll probably make a replacement for it myself.. but the blade is exceptionally well executed.. there is a distal taper in the tang that took a good bit of craftsmanship to execute, and the fit and finish on the knife is extremely well done... I think it will be a medium to small game skinning and processing stud..

I also picked up a #7 Opinel folder when I was in Rustenberg checking out an Outdoors shop.. I figured for $15 I couldnt go wrong.. It will make a good glove box knife just to keep in the Ranger side by side for whenever a knife is needed..
