History is full of ironies.

On January 30, 2020, President Trump said: "The USMCA is the fairest, most balanced, and beneficial trade agreement we have ever signed into law. It’s the best agreement we’ve ever made".

One very vocal person who was against the USMCA was - wait for it - Sen. Elizabeth Warren,

Uh oh, another deep state bureaucrat at CDC hiding behind Fauchian “science” :(

Not exactly. This review has been scheduled since the inception.

Article 34.7 of the USMCA1 requires the parties to hold a “joint review” of the agreement six years after its entry into force, which is July 1, 2026.2 In the review, the parties may submit recommendations for revisions to the agreement, which the group would consider. Article 34.7 also establishes that the agreement expires in 2036 unless the parties confirm in writing that they wish to extend it for another 16 years. The six-year review in 2026 is the first opportunity for the parties to notify that they approve or oppose renewal of the agreement in 2036. A notification that a party opposes the 2036 renewal would trigger further review meetings until the negotiators address the dissenting party’s concerns or the USMCA expires.

Members of the Trump administration have insinuated USMCA will be gone and two bilateral agreements will replace it. There is a legal protocol that is being followed. This is the first step. The individual posting that I cited is actually a Canadian who seems to understands this.

This is proposed legislation I can support.

“The congressman urged fellow legislators to swiftly pass the "Protecting America's Agricultural Land from Foreign Harm Act." The bill, led by Strong, would block farmland purchases by adversaries like China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.”

Imagine thinking you could interfere with Federal agents and not suffer consequences.

I’m hopeful that the Finding Out that’s been happening recently gives our society a little bit of a soft reset as to what’s acceptable public behavior.

Well California has apparently banned Glock pistols because they are "easily convertible"

So if you live in California you have until Jan 1st 2026 to acquire one.

What are the gunslaws in the US these in regards to a privat sell of a handgun?. Back when I lived in Alabama one could buy guns at fleemarkeds. The gunshop owners I knew said one could trade/sell up to 12 guns a year without FFL. How is that these days?.

Can one party make the agreement null and void on their own, or do all parties need to agree?

While they’re at it, they should figure out a way to block it from entities whose main business isn’t farming. Farmland needs to be in the hands of the farmers, not part of a portfolio.

It is not the gun laws in the US that matter but the gun laws in individual States. A legal purchase in TX, if it were to occur in IL, CA, NJ or NY could put you in jail as a felon forever prevented from ever owning a gun.

The defense industry gets a lot of criticism - some deserved and some bat sh$t crazy. It is good when a critical capability is exceeding the development glide path. Two years ago (2023), without yet being awarded an LRIP contract (Low Rate Initial Production) and no knowledge whether a new administration would maintain the program, Northrop Grumman committed just under $2 billion dollars to prepare their Palmdale plant for a quick start for LRIP. That year, the Street punished Northrop pretty severely for this profit "loss." But the country is now benefitting enormously as this technically revolutionary aircraft is taking to the skies ahead of schedule. In spite of the similarities in appearance, the B-21 is about as far advanced over the B2 as it was the B-52.

Pretty good synopsis if you can manage the fighter jock attitude.

For the conspiracy minded, this is a new speculative image of the Roswell alien craft that is buzzing around the internet after release of photos of the crash site a couple of days ago. :E Hmmm: :E Shrug:

It varies a lot from state to state.

This particular one has another layer to it. California is about the only state in which gen 3 glocks are commonly sold new because they are the only glocks on the CA handgun roster. We’re already unable to get gen iv and v glocks unless they are bought through one of the exemptions (police have an exemption).

One without a sense of humor....like Kimmel

I literally popped into this thread just to say how unbelievably happy I am he's been canceled. He is the picture of an insufferable Liberal, who does nothing but whine and moan, and is no longer funny.

I truly miss the days of politic-free late-night shows.

You could put it that way.

In NJ, all handgun person-to-person sales must go through an FFL, in-state. The purchaser must have a valid (one-time use) handgun permit in possession. In fact, if it is known you are an NJ resident and you attempt to purchase a handgun at a gunshow or FFL out of state (ie: PA), they likely will not sell you one. If they do, and you are caught with that handgun in NJ, not registered to a permit, you are going to jail.

The onerous part about NJ gun laws, other than the CCW restrictions, is the stupid single-use HG permit deal.

Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
