I’m just curious…I’ve seen a lot of green rhino hunts do people keep darting the same group of rhinos or are there that many rhinos.?

Are you joking?
The white rhino is downgraded from CITES I to CITES II. The population is about 20.000.
The black rhino population is about 5-6000.

Maybe not worded the best but it’s a fair question. It doesn’t matter for the hunt, but I also wonder how many times individual rhinos have been darted for these type hunts.

I did a ‘green’ rhino hunt, I do not know how often they dart the same rhino, but for sure they are darted multiple times according to my guide. The property where I did mine has exactly 2 rhinos.

I had the hunt of my life with Wintershoek Safaries for my darted rhino. I shot the tranguilizer dart that put him to sleep not some vita dart which to me made all the difference. To answer your direct question given I also asked I was told a rhino can only be tranquilized once per year. just my outfitter

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
