Noah’s Mill is my new go to. I hope this doesn’t disrupt that supply!

Willet Distillery is up on one of the ridges on the south end of Bardstown, should be OK.

Mostly the South and West ends of the county are bad. I feel bad for those folks. That’s twice this year they have been flooded.

No!!!! Things are bad enough already. I was even planning my first trip out there this summer.

They'll get that place cleaned up and open as quickly as possible. The gift shop alone has incredible traffic nearly every morning. Just not this week.

I love a wee dram of Arberlour Abu’nadh on a winter evening or the Bruichladdich any other time but generally I make my own. 50%abv rum on the left; rice shochu on the right. Just a hobby of mine.

@DieJager and @deewayne2003 - If you really want to take it to the next level with Irish whiskey, you should look at Green, Blue, Yellow & Red Spot whiskey. Distilled at the Midleton Distillery by Mitchell & Son. I've only had a few of them, but they were absolutely wonderful. I think there might be a Gold Spot as well.

Nice. I think I had the green spot once. A buddy of mine collects and sells whisky. Also has them as an investment.

Now and then he pops open some bottles that are way above my budget and and some more collectable ones. I think I had the green spot. Most Irish whiskeys are really enjoyable to drink to be honest.

Yes, the Irish whiskey is wonderfully light. But let's make sure to exclude Conor McGregor and his Proper 12.

Those are all good. I also like Knappogue Castle and Connemara for Irish whiskeys.

Finally got my first of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection! Wasn't a lottery win or MSRP, but also not full secondary. I have had zero luck on bottle lotteries.

We are distilling some fine brown water in Texas these days as well, some are American whiskies, some are Bourbons.

Among my favorites..
Balcone's Baby Blue
Balcone's Brimstone (aged in smoked mesquite barrels, very smoky flavor, though nothing like peat smoke)
Rebecca Creek
Yellow Rose blend, though the rye and straight are also quite good
Texas Giant 91 - hints of walnut and caramel without being sweet
TX
Red River
Cypress Cove
and of course, Garrison Brothers

If you like hints of vanilla, then Texas Ranger is also quite tasty, and under $30 for a 750 mL.

And though definitely not a bourbon, if you guys ever see a bottle of Laird's Applejack, it's also very good, and under $20. Laird's is THE oldest distillery in the United States, they've been around since the 1760s, and was a favorite of none other than George Washington. It takes about 100# of apples to make a single bottle. If you end up not liking the flavor, it's a very good cooking brandy as well. I know, most people see "apple" anything on a liquor bottle and assume "sweet" or "chick drink." My wife is not a NEAT whisky drinker, but she'll drink Laird's, Rebecca Creek, and Texas Giant neat. They're that smooth and tasty. I only drink neat, or maybe a few drops of water.

This stuff is most ricky-tick not sweet, with a character similar to drier Bourbons.

For Scotch, Glenmorangie 10 yo is my favorite.

I as well like the Applejack. Distillery right next door to where I work. I do like my bourbon, but once in a while slum it with applejack

I have the 10 year, and for me it is not worth the price difference over the single barrel select.

I have heard the 12 year is fantastic though. I haven’t heard about the 14 year, but I sure would like to get my hands on one.

I have heard your comment regarding the 10 year as well, not worried about pursuing that one.

I'm a big fan of Rye, I have had this Barrel Strength before and happy to find this one again. Never had Michter 10 year and looking forward to trying with friends that like Rye.
