Fellow Hunters - I shared details of this hunt in an October 2024 post, but only yesterday received the trophies from Hungary. My Brittany appears in the photos to provide some sense of size and scale. The plaques are hand carved and painted. I don't understand why my wife doesn't want these in our bedroom. Best to all. R

Thanks, Seth. Much appreciated. Coincidentally, my wife is now booking a week-long vacation!!

Very nice!

Ha ha.

Hard to draw a line from event A to event B, but these things happen! Beautiful trophies.

How was Hungary been for hunting?

Wonderful. I just got back from Argentina this morning on a stag hunt. They are wonderful to hunt. Congrats on your two fine stags!

Beautiful Stags, love the traditional mount you chose its fitting for those trophies.

Looking forward to your report. Argentina is an incredible country. Where were you?

I just started posting the report. I was at Los Molles in La Pampa region.

I have twice hunted Hungary and each time been stunned by the country, the hunting culture and the game management. The roebucks there are great, the stags are huge, and boar are immense. The outfitter I hunt with there seems to have this incredible network that stretches back to the dark days of communism when my sense is that there were systems within systems and the guys who survived that time seem to have emerged with an incredible hunting network. They know everyone and thus where all the great animals are located. I shot one of my stags around the Zelic mountains, and another two hours away in Vízvár near the Croatian border. I’m going back to this part of the world in October. I got one of the bear permits for Romania, and also will hunt chamois in the Carpathians. If you go to Hungary, I do not think that you will regret it.

We should probably visit offline more about your future plans. I would like to hear more about it and the outfitter. I'm looking for something like you are describing for future hunts on numerous species.

Beautiful plaques. Are those some of the ones I saw in a thread here on AH a while back? I'd love to have something like that for my upcoming Stag hunt in Romania.

Thank you, Sabre. Pannovad is who I hunt with in Hungary, and soon to be in Romania too.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
