Hey guys. I’ve been reading posts for quite a while but recently decided to actually setup a profile to post. I also recently put down a deposit on what will be my first African hunt going for Buffalo as the main target in Mozambique this year.

I spent most of my life in SC but relocated to FL a few years ago. It’s nice to meet you all!

Welcome. I’m an hour north of Tampa. Where are you? What rifle are you taking along for the buffalo?

:S Welcome:

I’m down south just outside of Coral Gables in Westchester.
I’m taking a Winchester mod 70 Alaskan in .375 H&H topped with a Leupold VX-6 Patrol 1-6x24 lighted duplex reticle. It was actually somewhat of a challenge to find a scope I liked for the application. Most of the LPVO scopes have a crazy tactical reticle and/or adjustable turrets neither of which I wanted.

Good day! Welcome to AH! Enjoy your upcoming safari!

Welkom!

Hello and welcome! Originally from the lowcountry myself.

welcome welcome welcome

Greetings Huntsouth,

Khomas Highland Hunting and Fishing Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

Looks like you’re all booked for a wonderful Safari to Mozambique.
Two of my friends here in Anchorage (husband and wife, with “his & hers” Model 70 Winchesters, both in .375 H&H caliber), recently returned from Coutada 9.
They said it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit every day.
However, the hunting was so perfect that, they hardly noticed the heat most of the time.
And, they said they can hardly wait to go back.

So, I expect that you are in for a grand hunting trip.
And, I shall look forward to your hunt report, especially your pictures.

Best Regards,
Velo Dog.

Thanks Velo. I’ll be in Coutada 10 the first 10 days in September. Hopefully it won’t be quite as hot by then but we’ll see. I’m looking forward to it. I’ll post some updates after the trip!

Brad, welcome to AH!

That’s exciting—your first African hunt and going after buffalo in Mozambique is an incredible way to start! You’re in for an unforgettable adventure.

I’m also live in Florida, so it’s great to see another hunter from the Sunshine State here. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip and seeing how it all comes together.

Wishing you the best of luck on your hunt!

SHORT NOTICE BUT SCI SOUTH FL CHAPTER IS HAVING THERE FUNDRAISER/BANQUET ON THE 15TH. I CAN'T DO IT THIS YEAR BUT IT'S A GOOD TIME AND YOU CAN MEET LOCAL HUNTERS.

Welcome to the forum. I grew up in that area, went to Coral Park Senior High, joined the Air Force, and ended up at Homestead ARB for several year. I also lived in Sumter, SC, when I was stationed at Shaw AFB. Moved to GA, and ended up at Robins AFB, from where I retired from.

I will be attending this event, I will be working a booth and have a few hunts that I have donated!

Welcome to AH!

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
