@Beaufort, we (Americans) can't really fault foreigners for their lack of (American) English comprehension and composition skills. Just as I would hope foreigners not consider Americans ignorant because Americans can't or won't proficiently learn or otherwise bastardize the respective foreigner's language.

You are spot on with this;
Ridge Runner, I checked his profile first to see if he was, in fact, a non-native English speaker but could not find where he was from. If I could have found evidence that English was not his first language, I would have certainly extended him that courtesy.

I also paired my initial perception with a later post in which fought was spelled “faught”

With regards to the United Healthcare CEO shooter.

I predict someone that knows him has already shared his name with law enforcement. And they will release his name soon if they don’t think they can grab him today or tomorrow. So they will either have him today or tomorrow.
Or will release his name within the next few days.

He was a little too cocky.

While Assad was a tyrant, dictator, and general asshole, he was at least somewhat tolerant of Christian’s, Druze, and other groups, and didn’t get nearly as involved in state sponsored terrorism like many of his middle eastern neighbors…
We have seen what happens when a secular ruler is replaced with a religious zealot. What could possibly go wrong?

Catching a suspect is one thing, convicting is another. Right now, it's all circumstantial evidence and if OJ can get off, so can this guy. Well known attorneys are already casting reasonable doubt.

Takes me back to the days of Jimmy Carter and the Shah of Iran. What could possibly go wrong indeed.

Hogpatrol, with the games this guy is playing. I wouldn’t rule out a decoy tactic. The obvious, unique backpack, showing his eyes and face.

The decoy may not be the shooter. And I may be giving him too much credit

I saw his post on mountain boots and ibex. I believe that he might be Swiss.

Perhaps he will tell us soon. His media suggests he has at least hunted Kazakhstan (Ibex). Perhaps he is from the region? It has an long relationship with Russia - positive and negative. However, the current president owes his office to Putin due to an intervention in Jan 2022.

I really don’t get the obsession with the grammar mistakes everyone is getting exited about. Usually easy to spot non-English speaker or English as second language errors.

What do they say about stones and glass houses? My favorite examples for those from the US and who speak English as primary or only language who routinely slaughter the language and grammar where common errors become acceptable. Could be called the “Ah shucks, just don’t know no better” bubba excuse. :) :)

Three common ones, among many, that make me cringe-

Incorrect use of “then” and “than” within a sentence

Incorrectly using “could care less” instead of “couldn’t care less”

Mis-pronunciation of “etcetera” with something like “ekcetera” or “exetera”

"Advice" and "advise" drive me to distraction. Someone posted a rather long and inarticulate hunting report fairly recently where I concluded he had never learned the past tense of "to see." I quit reading after the third "we seen." And let's no forget all the broken muzzles rather than muzzle "brake."

I’m the same way about interviews. After someone throws out their 4th or 5th “you know” in the first answer to a question or statement I tune it out.

@Hunt anything I seen what you posted and I have some advise......never try to sale anything with incorrect wording......you will be a looser.
and @capra-capra Thank you for posting your points......discussion of contentious issues is a step toward solving them.........chest pounding and shouting "we won, we won" is for children. I appreciate your posts, even if not always agreeing .....FWB

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
