A few more thoughts about this clip I posted earlier today. I have just finished watching some of our pseudo educated children being interviewed, and that begs a bit of discussion, because some of the same naiveté appears here occasionally.

The first is the fallacy that all people are the "same" regardless of race or nationality or culture. We may speak different languages or look differently, but inside we are all equally reasonable people with the same aspirations and goals. One sees this ignorant even dangerous innocence everywhere on campuses today and even espoused by the middle age suburbanite proudly driving with his or her "Coexist" bumper sticker.

To be blunt, it is not true. Cultural difference, imprinted through the centuries are very real and can be be very different. For instance, it is almost impossible for a secular middle or upper class person in the West, and particularly in this country, to accept the notion that another person, representing another culture could hate them simply because they exist.

What is particularly grimly humorous at the moment is that many of these same people are themselves espousing profound antisemitism on our campuses and streets.

The second fallacy is related to the first, but is specifically associated with the current conflict. It is widely embraced by those who have some education but little real experience in Middle Eastern Culture or understanding of the region's history. That belief is that a two-state construct will somehow resolve the Palestinian question.

To those who still cling to that belief, I urge you to simply listen to this man. I am absolutely certain he means exactly what he says. Listen to the demonstrators in the streets of our own country and particularly in Europe. "From the mountains to the sea" means exactly that.

I don't cite any of this with any sense of hopefulness, because these profound differences point to what is inevitably the strategic weakness of Israel's geographic location. Those differences also point to the strategic, perhaps even existential, error Europe has made by introducing so many of this alien culture into their homelands. What is particularly worrisome is that many in the West have agreed to mute any discussion of these obvious issues under the guise of racism.

As a peace-loving person who has never served in the military (much less in combat overseas) and fits the exact Western demographic that you describe, it is hard for me to wrap my head around this; yet I fully believe that what you are saying is true and we should plan accordingly.

This can understand only those who work or live in international environment.
This is very true.

Unfortunately, true.

IMO it bugs the ever loving crap out of me when someone from another country comes to the US and demands we accommodate their customs and culture while if we were to visit their country they demand we follow their customs and culture.

Looks like Ken Buck is out. While he’s not my rep, good riddance nonetheless. Closet Dems and RINOS in many ways worse than rank and file Dems.

it is not that that they demand, It is that we give this option.
1st amendment, ring a bell? (which in similar form is a part of every western country constitution?)

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

Then compare this, for example with sharia law, in countries where implemented, or various dictatorships. Constitutions or basic state laws, are generally simple and short legal documents, suggest to look for these on internet for number of countries in middle and far east and compare these basic state laws with bill of rights. Take one of your choice, and compare. It will take you just 15 minutes.

Cultural difference.

You kinda missed my point, my wife was a state food health inspector and she had multiple complaints by Muslims because certain restaurants did not serve halal meat or they allowed woman to go without head coverings. These are just a couple of examples. I for one try and learn and if possible participate in other cultures when I travel to other countries.
For that matter when someone from another state complains about me shooting and eating dove because they are a songbird in their state.

The difference is in the attitude. If someone immigrates to a foreign country (or state, lol) by choice, it is reasonable to assume they think life in that country will be better for numerous reasons. Therefore, it is also reasonable to have an interest in assimilating into that new culture, otherwise, why leave where you came from? It is the ultimate form of stupidity to uproot oneself from somewhere in search of a better life, and then try to make where you land look like where you left. (think Californians fleeing in droves). My ex's grandparents refused to teach their children Spanish. "You live in the US, you need to speak English" was their attitude.
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do" is a good adage to follow, even if you might be forced to relocate as some refugees have been. For any country, the US in my case, it is folly and very dangerous actually, to allow some of these groups to import more than their belongings. What I'm referring to is the allowing of various enclaves to adopt sharia law inside our borders. Practicing their religion is one thing, but when they refuse to recognize the laws of the country I have no issue with imprisonment or deportation. Neither would violate our constitution.
The US is still the country of freedom and opportunity. Unfortunately, that bothers some people who are actively trying to screw that up. A lot of them are native to the US. What I find very telling is, those who have legally immigrated are some of the most pissed about the illegal immigrants. For breaking the law to get here, for the black eye they give the legal immigrants, and for the attitude of trying to make the US more like where they came from. It is all about the attitude; if you want to be here, act like it.

@Woodcarver you are spot on about legal immigrants/workers despising illegal immigration. I have 10 workers on our farm that come over on the H2A program and they won’t associate with any illegals if they can help it. They are wonderful people and the hardest working people on our farm.

A very interesting series.

This one talks about artificial intelligence, oil, and some other tidbits.
You'll have to fast forward thru the Zombie narrative at the beginning. That's pretty far fetched.

What I find fascinating among the western-based protesters are the number of young, vocal women who so strongly espouse the destruction of Israel, and their support for Palestinian rule. Do they not understand that their standing "back home" would be much, much less egalitarian?

Marxism is rampant and disproportionately represented in university humanities departments.

Women are overrepresented in universities.

Agree with what you are saying.

One thing Trump did through the Abraham Accords was show the world that there doesn't have to be a two state solution. Israel can make peace with it's neighbors and leave the Palestinians out of the equation. The Arab countries are about as sick of the Palestinians as Israel.

That doesn't mean the Palestinians will set by and accept it, but they can be isolated and left swinging in the wind.

The big question is the infusion of Muslims into first world countries, will they be able to swing enough internal pressure to push the west against Israel.

Regardless of sex, the brain dead college students that are mostly now getting their tuitions paid for by the Marxist endowment contributors and/or the taxpayers are prone to sympathize with Hamas , BLM and every other left wing group. Most haven't worked an honest day of work in their miserable lives! It's time to withhold federal funding to those public colleges that encourage and promote radical agendas that have nothing to do with the students obtaining a degree in college. If they want to be radical, taxpayer funded public colleges should not be the place their allowed to do it. If it's a private college, every endowment contributor should be called out and publicly ostracized for subsidizing their radical left agendas. I'm sure we'd be unpleasantly surprised as to the individuals and corporations that are contributing and/or promoting the radical left agendas on our college campuses. The same ones promoting the "new world order".
