Fellow AH Members,
I have booked a lioness hunt thru Shingalana Safaris for later this year, 2014. My wife and I will be going. In talking with Frikke Jacobs (Owner/PH) this past weekend about AH, he is willing to offer a discounted hunt to 2 -3 additional members that book and go with us for a price of US $5,800 all-in. Shingalana is a family owned and operated safari company that operates on four adjoining ranches of 2000 hectars each totaling 8000 hectars or 20,000 acres about 2 1/2 hours north-west of Johannesberg. The lioness hunt will take place on one of the 5,000 acre ranches.

The $5,800 includes:

Assistance with gun permits
Pick up and drop off at OR Tambo airport
7 days (5 full hunting days) acommodations, meals, beverages
Daily laundry
All Government permits and licenses
PH 1 x 1 w/ hunting vehicle
trackers and skinners
Field prep and delivery of trophies to taxidermist
Trophy fee for one lioness

Not Included:
International & domestic airfare
Acommodations/meals/beverages before or after contracted safari dates
Trophy fees of additional animals wounded or lost
Government tax on daily rate (Trophy fees are VAT and exempt)
Gratuities to staff and PH (At hunters discretion)

Normal price for lioness: Daily rate: 7 days at $300 = $2,100, Lioness trophy fee $7,500 = $9,600 for a savings of $3,800. This special has been offered for a group of at least 4 AH members. If more than this amount are interested we could split the goups going into different dates. The offer is good until the end of the SCI show in Vegas, Feb.9th so we will need to lock you in with a deposit. (I have already sent mine) Please contact me if interested. It should be a grand time.

Plains game can be added for additional trophy fees:
Common Springbok-----------$500
Black Springbok--------------$700
White Springbok-------------$1000
Copper Springbok------------$1500
Black/Blue Wildebeest--------$1100

Wes,

Best of luck and enjoy the hunt. You know we want lots of photos and a story.

What month are you going and what rifle are you using?

All the best.

Thanks Bob. Come on and go with us! Looking at a late season hunt to take advantage of lower airfares, maybe early to mid October. You know I'll have to try out the .470NE with Barnes Triple Shocks!!!!

Wes,

Thanks for the offer but sorry, I already have two African hunts booked this year. One pretty expensive for me.

We also have a couple of other out of the country (non hunting) trips planned. (keeping the "Family" happy) Don't know if I can afford what is already on the books. 2015 may be spent staying home licking my financial wounds and reading your hunting reports. Thank goodness for AH where I can live vicariously through everyone's efforts.

I bet you and your 470 will be a great team.

All the best.

Sorry to post on your thread and mean no disrespect to you but I though the new rules for captive lion hunts in SA, required a minimum of 7 hunting days for package deal. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks!

No disrespect taken. It is a 7 day package. I stated 5 full hunting days because the first is about a half day of actual hunting (travel from Joberg to ranch is 2.5 hrs) Last day is half day hunting and then travel to Joberg. Hope this clears it up Brian!

Thanks Bob. I'll be looking for your reports too. Maybe we need to talk to Paul and start working on a AH Member trip to the Northern Territory in OZ for buffalo! Bob Puckett are you reading this?????....Will Deb let you go "down under" to play? We can meet up with bluey for a few beers I'm sure.

I'll do the reports......may have to relearn how to post pics.

I am game for a NT group hunt. Will probably need to be 2016 or 2017 for me. Never to early to start planning. Definitely need bluey to sail up to hunt with us and show us how to catch fish by the ton.

Got ya, Thank you, I didn't want to come off as someone pissing on someone offer. Appreciate the info.

Hey, if there is any appearance of dirty deals the members appreciate the question, even when it turns out to be unfounded. Thanks.

I re-read thru my post and thought I should clarify. If you are interested in the hunt, you do not have to go at the same time I go. I just suggested that as I thought it would be fun having other AH members there when I was there. (My wife said that I might be scareing people off if they thought they had to hunt with me...LOL) As long as the hunt takes place in 2014, all is good!

Wes, I'll be going in the middle of October for a hunt and will be staying at Afton house probably the 14th or 15th, if your around the same time, I would love to buy you a drink and meet a fellow AH member.

Hey Brian. We haven't set the exact date yet but that's pretty dang close to when we'll be there. If the timing works out, your on! Are you going to be at SCI in Vegas?

Wes,

Can this be a bowhunt?

Tom,
Yes sir!

Does 5800 include non observe (my wife)?
Hey gozz21!,
No sir. The $5,800 would only cover the hunter. Sorry, but this deal has expired. I'm sure Frikkie will put together another offer around this years show season for 2015.
