32” Warebuck from North West area fenced. Snap shot as it jumped from bed at 50 yds.
37.5 “ Livingston eland. Niassa running at 100yds.
4&3/8” Suni. Niassa. Stalking through forest. 40 yds off sticks.
Cape Bushbuck 15.75 free range Natal. Cross canyon 150 yds off tree branch.
16..25” Springbok. Namibia free range. 265 yds of sticks. My best shot off sticks thankfully. Small target.
Honorable mention!
41.25 by 39.5 with 8.5” bases. Gemsbok bull.
I can’t believe PH could let this happen! In Namibia they have a buffer zone of 20 feet or so between free range barbed wire and 10 strand low game proof fence -5 ft tall. This bull was trying to get into fenced area from free range. Anything in between fence is free. PH just pulled over- I shot from truck. 265 yds. When we pulled up to dead animal-PH that’s a 40” gemsbok!! He never looked at animal- just shoot it!!! I took pic between fences. Could have been trophy of a lifetime.

Eastern Cape, 2021 and 2022. Very happy I was able to hunt these Cape Kudu.

I took the sable and the buff on the Caprivi.

The claw marks on my Buff were from the two male Lions that were hanging on him. My Caracal was killed at the main camp on my last hour of the hunt. All my other animals were taken on the Caprivi.

What I like about my Blue Wildebeest is that he is heavy and carries his weight all the way out to the tips. Hunted him for two days before finally getting him.

While I'm not a big numbers guy, sometimes the tape is pulled at the skinning shed for good reasons, here are a handful that I actually remember or wrote down the numbers:

Cape Buffalo- Selous game reserve. This one isn't super wide and didn't get a score, but love the shape and it was a dream bull in a dream area!

Buff was 40 inches, sable was 43.5 inches, bushbuck was 16 inches and lechwe was 29 inches. Very pleased with all of them. Also killed a gemsbok, giraffe, nyala and baboon on that safari as well.

I'm a complete rookie to Africa hunting. Going on my first safari in 3 weeks to RSA. I don't know much but I know that is an absolute world-class impala. Holy moly.

I'm still working on it its just difficult to find or choose my top 5 at the moment but I am enjoying this thread very much though.

So I will just post some animals and memorable moments from hunting excursions.

Sharing a long search for a trophy duiker with my son.

My Beautiful wife starting to join me on hunts. This year she will join again on a session or two stalking from camp.

Helping out friends organizing special trips and joining them, we burst out laughing on this shot my head is dropped.

No need for a comment on this one.

Thankfullness for what our Father gave us as blessing and respect for special animals.

Very proud father and son with his first proper hunt, 9 years old then.

7 Years after that first hunt on the warthog and he bagged a buffalo cow 3 days of very hard hunt spending much of it in the field from dawn to dusk.

Teaching boys the way of life away from the city.

My first own DG animal not guided but hunted.

I think we as hunters have far more greater life experiences than the avg. Joe we make plans and work for those goals for that next adventure experience its a drving force with a need to get away and go hunt.

I won't do five. Of over 20-animals in southern Africa I've hunted, only two would make Rowland Ward. So you get two.
