Here in Australia it is getting harder and more expensive to find and purchase good quality projectile’s. For instance if you can find a box of TSX Barnes it’s going to cost you some where from $100 to $150 for a box of 50 medium cal projectiles. Thank goodness for Cameron at Atonic 29 we now have a constant supply of high quality Aussie made bullets. These projectiles have deep penetration, excellent weight retention and are amazingly accurate.
Recovered bullets
No 1 220 gr from a 340 wea at 3150 fps
No 2 250 gr from a 9.3 x64 at 2850 fps
No 3 270 gr from a 375 Ruger at 2700 fps
All had 97+ % weight retention.
Second photo shows some of the range
270 cal 130 gr, 7 mm cal 135 gr, 30 cal 155 gr, 338 cal 220 gr, 9.3 cal 250 gr, 375 cal 270 gr.

More thinking of those bigger calibres like 458's and upwards, nitro express cartridges etc that have an impact velocity of 2000fps or lower.

Have only tested calibers up to 375
But interesting enough in the 458 he makes 3 bullets for different velocities eg 45-70 lever guns 45-70 Ruger no 1 and 458 win and Lott . Does the same in 30 cal etc
Makes 404, 416, 458, 470, 500, 600, and have heard he has played around with 70 cal. His prices are way under what you would pay else where for these larger caliber. Give him a call.

I saw a picture of a buffalo that he killed with one of his bullets out of a 375 Ruger.
Those do look like them perform. A brief internet exchange with him, he seems like a hell of a good guy.

Yes Cameron is a top bloke.
Go out of his way to help you in anyway. You don’t get that service from any of the big companies nowadays.

Cameron's projectile, an Atomic 29 on the left.
The other is a Barnes. Fired from the same Browning .308 rifle on the same day .
These rounds were exhumed from a dirt mound behind the target.

@Tim Blackwell is good mates with Cameron. Tim actually put me in touch with Cameron who I met up with and bought some bullets from.

Planning a hunt using 155gn Atomic 29 projectiles from my .300wm. That story is about 6 weeks away and counting down.

As others say Cameron is quite obliging. Id like to see him join AH as he might be able to share some info and feedback he's getting from repeat clients.

Hi CBH
I’ll mention it to him about joining the site. With those two bullets you posted I have never seen a Barnes mushroom like that before, they normally fold back into the 4 petals where as the Atomic have a full mushroom without any petals.

Not my load but I thought it was the Barnes my mate was using.

The mushroomed one on the right has an x or + stamped on the bottom.

Both copper bullet's .

On the day we thought it was the Barnes, could be something else in range backstop.

No worries
I have seen that + on the base of some bullets before, maybe have been trophy bonded or ascents

you should post a link to his site
I think he has a Facebook page.

He has been making these for a while but it's one part of his business so it's still growing.

Picked some stomic 29 in .458 .375 & 9.3, but not tried them. The heaviest he makes in 458 is 450 gr. They look like they a CNC machined .
This is a photo of a barnes 458 500rg on the left and atomic .458 450 rg on right.
Cameron at Atomic makes his bullets roughly the same size as a conventional cup and core lead bullet. That way a standard twist barrel will shoot all of his bullets and they don’t take excessive powder space in the case. Penetration isn’t a problem as recovered bullets are rare.
