Well done Mike, beautiful Trophy, I like the leopard very much.

Congratulations for this wonderful safari!!!!!!.

And thank you for sharing with as your experience, it made me to remain my hunt at the Omay with Shaun Buffee two and a half years ago.

Thanks for sharing some of those moments of your hunt with us Mike. Nice of you to recognize and put pictures of your hunting team as well.

Great hunt, congratulations !

Congradulations on a great leopard!

Great hunt Mike a trip of a life time and i am sure that you are looking at taking another go at the Sable...

Pictures and a story to go into your 2011 hunting journal..

Good stuff Mike. Well done.

Did Katherine shoot anything on this trip?

Katherine did not hunt this trip. If we could have found a kudu she would have taken it.

Plainsgame hunting is tough in the South this early in the year.

Congratulations Mike, great hunt and a beautiful big leopard. well done

congrads on a great hunt. maybe someday, i will be able to hunt leopard. this is my dream.

Mike,
congrats on another successful hunt.

Super buff and very fine cat, beautiful trophies all round.

How-bout some bullet reports ?

Did you fire off any of the C.E.B's ?, or N.F's, I'd love to know.

Cheers,
Paul.

Paul,

I shot the leopard with a 180 grain Partition. It was dead under the tree and the bullet exited. The buffalo bull was shot with a 300 grain North Fork soft. It traveled almost through the the buffalo diagonally but did not exit. We never found the bullet. It must have fallen out when we field dressed it. The buffalo cow was stopped in its tracks with a 500 grain North Fork cup point solid. The bullet exited and did quite a bit of damage as it passed through. I has CEBs for my solids but never needed them.

Mike, sounds like those NF's are truely living up to expectations.

For a 300gn to travel through a buff diagonally, that is tremendous penetration for a "soft", shame you couldn't recover it.

I intend getting some (450gn) to run in my .500, eventually.

Congrats again on the hunt and thanks for the great hunt report.

Paul.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
