In a recent post @Ridge Runner stated that on exiting Zimbabwe he was told that his hollow point ammo (Barnes) was illegal in Zimbabwe and to never bring them back in. This the first time I've heard of this. Does anyone know if what he was told was true or just an uninformed comment from the customs officer?

I suspect its bogus, but who knows. A Zim member can hopefully clear it up.
I used them when last there but it was about 10 years ago.

Shakedown strategy I assume.

I also never had them inspected at customs when I came in, just counted. I have entered Zimbabwe many times with CEB Raptors and no one ever said anything.

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
