One week from today, my daughter and I are heading to Mike Taylor's (aka @spike.t ) Takeri Game Reserve in Zambia. We'll be hunting with @PeteG

We hope to get a couple of these:

Using a 404 Jeffery for me and a 7x57 for my daughter, Elise.

Go get ‘em. Flame grilled Sable chops are magnificent !
I shot this particular fellow with a .30-06 Springfield, but often also use my 7x57mm Mauser for sable as well. The 175Gr Hornady Interlock (loaded by Hendershots Custom Ammunition) is an excellent bullet in the 7x57mm Mauser for even the largest of bull sable.

Good luck to all. Safe travels and shoot straight.

Awesome, look forward to the report! Jealous on all fronts, but the fact that you will be enjoying quite possibly the best beer in Africa:love::love:

Love that beer, and definitely hope you find some of those sable!

You’re killing me! That’s my favorite African beer!

Good luck and you are in very good hands outfitter and ph wise.....great place for super Sable.....

Take some Essentiale or liver tonic.....you may need it. ...

Excellent! You will have a blast.

Following the adventure. Safe travels.

Good luck on your safari, waiting for the report.

Best of luck to you and your daughter. Nice looking rifles. You'll find Mike to be a great host. I loved hunting Takari a few years ago. Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. Anything besides sable on the list? They have a lot of blue duiker as well as some excellent Chobe bushbuck. Be safe and shoot straight!!

Can't wait to read the report. Best to Pete and Mike.

Safe travels and good hunting! Reading this nearly brought a tear to my eye, as I look forward to taking my daughter one day. She's just over 6 months, so it'll be a little while, but I cannot wait.

Look forward to hearing about your trip.

What else is on the list other than the sable?

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.
