Your 3 favorite hunting cartridges of all time

And after all these years I will 100% stick by these.
7x57
9,3x62
.450-.400 3&1/4”

I might just change the 9,3 to a FN similar to the 7mm with a 3-9x36 or 40 scope on.
Ek hou van jou keuses, Dewald!(y)

6.5x55 the ”original” long distance cartridge and perfect for small to midsized animals

9.3x62 for the slightly larger animals. Probably the best cartridge ever invented (especially with hand loads)

470NE for anything that wants to kill me…

I like the 'kill me' comment! Funny....but true

22 LR
30-06
375 H&H

You can find ammo anywhere

275 Rigby...in a Highland Stalker
338 Norma...in a Granite Mountain Arms Custom
500 Nitro Express...in a Heym 89B

For me it’s 3 you won’t see mentioned that much.

.264 Winchester
.338 Winchester
.416 Hoffman

But who the hell wants only 3 rifles?

Absolute favorites:
303 British
.30-06
416 Rigby

.22 LR, .243 Win and 30-30 are all runner-ups :-)

22 LR
6.5 PRC
300 PRC

When I make it to Africa, I hope to add a 375 Ruger to my collection. First trip is going to be for plains game, so don’t need a 375 or bigger anyhow.

Find myself looking at the metal engraving on Gunwerks Skuhls all the time. Would be a great rifle for a trip to Africa, but would be the cost of a trip or two to Africa!

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
