I have one more rifle that I would like to sell. I bought this gun from the original owner and he gave me the original box of shells that he bought with the gun. There were five shells in the box that had been fired. He told me he shot the five shells at watermelons! He said, "it really does a number on those melons". This gun was built in 1961 and is as close to pristine as you will find. I know there are many of these rifles out there but this one is certainly a keeper for a Winchester guy. Serial number is 2552527 and I'll be happy to answer any questions about the gun or FaceTime with you to see the gun in person. Price of the gun is $1000 plus $50 shipping to your FFL.

My hope is to make this a deer rifle but I do not want to drill any new holes in it for a scope. I'm hoping to find some kind of side mount for a scope using the existing holes (?)

Nice grab on a very fine rifle.
You’ll love it.

But don’t scope it. The 1894 is not made for a scope, and drilling into it in any way is diminishing both the numerical and spiritual value of the weapon.

What you CAN do is add a Lyman 66A receiver sight. These are still made new, but are also period-correct for the rifle as pictured. You see the two small screws on the left side of the receiver? Remove those and the Lyman will attach to them as from the factory.

If you’ve never used a receiver sight (aka “peep sight”) you’re in for a treat. The 30-30 lever gun is light, handy, tame, and very effective set up this way. You will be very pleased.

That's how I learned to shoot with my M16 in the Army. Great idea. That's what I am gonna do. Thanx!

It is already drilled and tapped for a peep.

Turnbull restoration has side mounts that will go in the two existing holes on the left side of the receiver. You can put a red dot scope on it super easily.

Exceptionally nice model 94. Congratulations to the buyer and seller. I’m glad it was taken before I saw this!

Hi Green Chile, I just recently bought a 470 NE barrel for my Thompson Center TCR 83-87 single shot. Im just looking for some 470 NE to shoot at the range just to try it out. I dont need anything special but I just wanted to see what you have left. I dont necessarily even need a full box.
Thanks
Bill
